Hello everyone First time grower here, I have some beautiful girls about ready to start flower and plan on maintaining a steady garden..BUT.. I can't decide which LED lights to go with in my 2x4x5 flower tent. Im stuck between the Electric sky es180 and the Spider farmer sp2000 with the mars hydro sp250 running in a close 3rd and the maxisun (spider farmer copycats) in 4th..
PLEASE HELP ME MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE ASAP!!!!! Id like to order the light tomorrow, 01/02/21... thanks

Your tent is low profile at 5 feet so you definitely want a LED thats designed to be ran close to the canopy. Many lights are intended to be ran at >28 inches above the plants where others are designed to run at 6 to 12 inches from the canopy.

Look at the Fluence Spydr 2i as an example of a fixture that is intended to be ran at 6 - 12 inches, it's for a 4x4 though. I am sure there is a light thats similar for a 2x4 footprint. Basically a strip light with high diode count driven softly. These lights will be wide, smaller lights that cover the same area need to be hung much higher.

The ES180 says 12 to 18 inches, so it's sorta in the middle. Not sure what the other options you listed would ideally be ran at distance wise but since you have a low ceiling height I would be putting this factor at the top of my selection criteria.

Never heard if them before, do you have any experience with them personally??
Zero. But i'd buy it and try it out cause I like to try new things. I think i'm going to buy it for my vet set up soon. Im gonna get the 200w one. There a little ppfd chart on there that looks good.

... actually with a 2x4 might be better with 1 es300 ...
I agree. I use the HLG equivalent in a 2 x 4 x 5 and dimming the light down to about 280 watts gives a nice corner to corner yield. If you went with the ES180, you might find that light is a little underpowered for full 8 square foot coverage. And you won't be able to turn the wattage up on that light.

... Thats a little out of my price range right now ...
OK. I too didn't consider the " ... if I could afford it" aspect. My bad ...

The ES180 will do OK in a 2 x 4. The outer fringes might not deliver baffo bud - but it will give you usable stuff for your cannabutter or edibles.

You know Spider Farmer is a copy too. They're copying HLG. Another thing to think about is Mars and Spider Farmer are both made at the same factory in China.

You know what...they do the same thing with expensive tools. Snapon tools are made in the same factory as cheap ass tools like the Northern brand.
