Hey folks,

Doing this journal due to the lack of info/pics on this scrain etc, Have put up some pics here of the test run with this strain -> https://www.rollitup.org/t/budshots-samsara-el-alquimista.767671/#post9990627

Have now done a full run and starting to dial things in, harvested 24 + popcorn stuff last time with 1 x 400 and 1 x 600w hps, in seperate grow rooms.

Canna Coco, coco nutes, pk13/14, silica etc, this time around got some nice new sylvania grolux bulbs, be getting some LED's after this round to get the veg time down.

She's pretty much an 8-9wk strain, from the previous grow I thought she'd stretch a bit more so flipped when the screen was about 70% full, with the new bulbs the stretch hasn't been what I expected and next time round I'll flip at 100% fill and not train any further.... i think I'd get more off them this way..

peace TTK

Tomorrow will be the 1 month mark for 12/12, PPM @ approx 1200, PH@ 5.8.

Temps max out approx 28c with night temps being very low, down to 8c - no heating being used as never had a problem with low temps, will be installing a small fan for the evenings as currently the main fan has to run, if the fan stops the smell is everywhere! Next grow will be lights on at night, this will help this also...

Pics tomorrow. TTK.

So we're 6wk 2 days in to approx 8 wk... swelling bigtime now, smell has gone up but still manageable, still running PK 13/14 @ .5ml/l approx, will start to flush in about a week. Couple of pistils are starting to turn, can definately see the difference the 600w makes to the bud sizes over the 400, yield will be interesting this time around :D

I'll try get some pics with lights off soon, will be much nicer on the eyes ..

Thanks Taviddude - updated pics just loaded :D thanks for the kind words! Ideally I would have flipped after another week of veg, this strain seems to give me more if I let it stretch a bit above the screen, next time I'll prob flip @ 100% or at least 90% screen fill, they don't stretch too much compared to many other strains.

Gotcha. Yeah, probably a good 10-20% increase if each cola had an extra 3-4 inches on em.

Still, killer carpet ;)

i got these seeds as a freebie a while back, the lack of info on them is what made me hesitate in germinating them, so thanks for making the thread it will help me make my mind up.

what sort of smell and flavour are you getting from her? is it like anything you have tried before?

Hey GHB - I also got this one as a freebie (one seed, lucky I got the good genetics!) from an Attitude order, and as said in another post - the reason for this IS the lack of info on it!

I find it hard to explain the smell and taste as I think this can greatly vary person to person, also how it's consumed etc...
I would say the Northern Lights is prominent with the pheno I have, I have grown out big bang which is a NL cross and can see a few similarities, I've not grown out AK but from pictures and reviews I can see how the bud structure from the AK is there.

I've grown 'fruity' smelling strains that have required double carbon filtration, but this one doesn't require that, there is a strong smell but I'd say it's on the skunk/pine/spice side of things, more spice x skunk, the taste is rather earthy/hashy, and strong, through a vape the taste is outstanding.

As mentioned earlier the high is very strong, and gives me a stone-over (the day after) which I don't like so much. Very body and heady stone, quite long lasting - if I have a joint I'm pretty ripped for at least 2 hours before it gets to a level I prefer to be at, and that lasts for approx another 2 hrs.

Overall though, after growing many many strains and a number of my own crosses, this has hit the mark so far in terms of speed/yield/quality. I plan to try out Dinafem's Critical + 2.0 next, but won't be getting rid of these genetics!

Thx for stopping by!

Looks like you are doing far better than I did with this strain. I didn't much care for it and ended up trashing the clones I took. Your journal makes me question the wisdom of that decision.

Hey BLJ - you could have easily got a crap phenotype, I have read somewhere that someone else got a crap bean, but for me she's the biggest yielder I've run (with such short flower time)!

Things are moving along, buds are looking pretty similar to the last set of pics - however today the flush begins - each approx 20-25L pot received approx 30l plain water and res filled up with plain water +drip clean, then PH'ed to 5.7. Will have some pics in the next few days, hope to chop in approx 10 days.

Well we've had a bit of a flush... the plant under the 600w isn't quite ready so a few more days for it, the plant under the 400w is definitely ready and I plan to harvest in the next day or so, I'll pop up some pics pre harvest & wet weight as I go, last grow was pretty much spot on 1/4 of wet weight so can't wait to get trimming! By the looks of things I'll be down on the 600w yield and slightly up on the 400, though could have done better with both by letting them veg a bit longer as earlier mentioned.. Pics soon :D

3/4 is the harvest is done. Looking like the 400w yield will be around 12.5 and 14 for the 600, as expected the 600 was down a little but this was due to flowering too early, given a bit of extra growth I could have easily hit the 1lb mark, maybe more.

The 400 definitely could have done a little better, maybe could get 14 next time, can clearly see the difference between light output between the two, the buds from the 600w area are much bigger and easier to trim, less popcorn.

Overall very happy considering the cold temps. Worth noting with this strain that I did have to end up double-carbon-filtering, the smell wasn't too strong but it was noticeable during the last 2 weeks, this may also be due to the fact the fan was on rather high speed, and therefore the air didn't have as much time to be scrubbed as when the fan is on low.

Final weights and some budshots to wrap this thread up will come in the next few weeks.

Final results: 17 from the 600 and 8 from the 400, not sure what happened - my guess would be the lower tems of a night that I can't really chaange, either way was up one on last time, next round will be up again overall as will let sill out the screen more before flipping.
