ED Indoor Grow

I am starting a new indoor grow and am curious about using LED lights to grow. I am planning having 24 plants under a LED light. Now my question is what sort of LED light would I need to adequate light and feed 24 plants?

depends on how much space you plan on giving each plant, and how big you let them get before you flower them.
It is best to have the dees practically on the plant, as light deteriorates at a rate of distance squared.
I personally think around 80 watts a foot is good for heavy flowering, although it is much less than that for vegging.
Dees are pretty much cost prohibitive at this level however.

Going with a HPS is cheaper, and with pretty much guaranteed results.

-Its just hotter and less efficient.

Only now do i realize i left the L out of the title. What about with power consumption? Will the LED's consume less power?

If you buy a package that's not over a thousand dollars,

yes it will use less power.

I'm of the mindset that the gains from dees comes from keeping them really close,
and focusing on the specific spectrums.

The actual lumens / watt ratio for dees tend to be less than that of an hps,

So I think it is optimal to run just as many watts as you would with any other system,

I think 80 watts on a plant will produce dense nuggets.

So no, not less power. Especially if you plan on flowering with them.

I'm about to try this out, with my DIY panels which will be putting down 100 or so watts per cutting, with 4 total per fixture.

24 is a decent amount of plants.

How tight are you gonna have them?
