EC/PPM Help!

I bought this ppm/ec meter on Amazon. It doesn't state which conversion method to use for the ppm and I can't seem to get an answer. It provides EC in microsiemens per centimeter (μS/cm). How do I convert this to an actual EC value so I can get an accurate reading on my nutrients? 41F8A613-D8F8-441C-95B7-2F7CF5166334.jpeg

To convert to EC from uS.

Lets say you have a reading of 2000 uS (EC of 2.0)

To use a 0.5 conversion you simply multiply by 0.5. so 2000 x 0.5 = 1000 PPM

Using 0.7 conversion is the same procedure. 2000 x 0.7 = 1400 PPM

uS is micro siemens, thats EC.

have you tried switching the mode by pressing the mode button?
looks like it will show TDS scale PPM then and do the conversion for you.
would simply stick with EC, us/cm, tbh, there are like you see more PPM conversion scales, thats confusing.

It only gives me the microsiemens per centimeter. I was trying to figure out how to convert that to EC.

First answer was what I needed: divide the microsiemens per centimeter number by 1,000 to get the EC. Not even going to bother with the PPM anymore... All I need to know and care about is the EC.

yep thats right, divide by 1000 or imagine a dot after the first digit on the display when the reading is above 1000, below imagine a 0. in front.
its the same unit, Siemens, its just micro what your meter is showing, 1000st of 1.
EC is measured in Siemens, the rest is just scaling.
anyway, thought you wanted to convert to some PPM scale.

quoted from above.
"Lets say you have a reading of 2000 uS (EC of 2.0) "
there you go.
its not really a conversion you need to do, just some scaling.

I'm surprised amazon doesn't try to bundle that meter with calibration solution. Whatever you do, don't buy any. It's more interesting to guess.

the big block letter kinda give it away: TDS/EC. it reads in EC so why do you need to convert it to EC?

It gives me the EC in microsiemens per centimeter. I needed to know how to convert that to siemens. That's all.
When folks are referring to using, say an ec of 1.3, that is in MILLI siemens.
milli is 1/1000th, micro is 1/1000000
Divide the ec reading by 1000
1000 micro siemens is the same as 1 milli siemen
