EC meter recommendations for a peat grow

Hello,

I am looking for a reliable, accurate EC meter to ensure that I am not over feeding my plants with nutrients. I will use this meter to measure my runoff and create a nutrient solution that is similar to what my feed chart recommends. I am growing in peat (promix HP.) Can someone please recommend a value priced EC meter model for a Canadian consumer that they have had success with? I hope this meter will help me optimize my grow by aiding me in determining the right amount of nutrients.

Nutrients: Green Planet 2 part Duel Fuel kit.

You can't beat a truncheon for simplicity and longevity. Never needs calibration, waterproof. It might be a little more expensive but it's a tool that will last.

Some of the cheapo pens are really not that bad, I have had one little no namer thats been going strong for 10+ years. They are hit and miss though, another little no name one I picked up was reading RO water (3PPM) at 56 PPM and that was after using it's calibration powder thats a PITA. I like to have stuff like PPM meters handy in all my rooms so I have played with a few different cheapos and they really are a gamble and you would want to be able to verify their accuracy. So for that reason alone I wouldn't recommend going that route.
