Ebb & Flow Tray On Top Of Reservoir

Does anybody know if I can put a 4x4 botanicare tray on a 50 gallon botanicare reservoir and have that support the weight of 16 2 maybe 3 footers.
I ask because of a height to light issue.
Thanks

Dont do that, I know a lot of the tray/res combos intend for you to place them on the res but they do make a stand for the tray or you can make one from 2x4's

I only say to do that because of the cost, down toward the end of flower when the plants are heavy + your medium and water *30-40 gallons* = disaster if the res buckles... your res is broken, your plants are hurt, at that point you need a solution asap. So instead of possibly going through that why not just make a $20 2x4 stand?

Im running ebb and flo now in a height restricted cab, it was tricky to figure out how i should run it but i eventually decided to run the res outside of the cab to give myself a few more inches of growth.

I have a 2x4 ebb and flow table and I made a stand out of PVC pipe. Light weight and will never warp if it get a little wet.

Often times people put the trays on a tray stand (made of pvc pipe or 2x4 lumber) and put the reservoirs for the specific tray underneath. I always thought it to be a poor choice, keeping all the water in the room under the plants and restricting their height, but then again that's why I'm an Ebb & Gro Bucket user. :) Just make sure you keep the lid on, otherwise enjoy the humidity bath! :)

I bought a 30 dollar folding card table for my 2x4. The table I bought is 3x3x3 so I have extra room for fans on the same table that holds the flood table---under the table is my res....it works well.

My first post here... yaaaaay!
