Ebb and grow with net pot and hydroton

In an effort to get away from buying rockwool I am going to try and go from my ez cloner (my clones will usually have 6-8 inches of roots in the ez cloner) to net pots and hydroton in my ebb and grow bucket system.

For those of you who run this setup where do you have your clones in the flood level? I was going to have the roots under the flood level and flood every 6 hours starting but not have the stem itself get wet to avoid stem rot.

Does anyone have any input?

Stem rot isn't an issue. I just put aero cloned bare roots into net pots for my dwc buckets and they're already very established out the bottoms. if you're flooding, the stem has more than enough time to dry out. Don't over think it. Just go for it. ;)
