Earth Juice organic hydro solution need help!

I recently picked up a full set of EJs basic grow micbroblast bloom line, which I've heard is their best and was the only one on hand at the grow shop in town. I've mixed a 20 gallon batch of it at half strength for some clones that I transplanted into veg and they had a rough time of it in the dome for some reason but they've exploded in the past few days. My problem is that at only 6 days old the solution smells....well....rank. Personally none of the concentrate in the bottles smells rank at all if you ask me and neither does the freshly mixed solution. I've got an air stone going in there but I'm wondering if it wasn't enough and the solution has turned; but I'm rather confused as I've read in quite a few places (although nothing in depth that I can find) that it can stink. I can't find anything specific about it, and it seems as though those particular writers felt like it stank as a concentrate and fresh solution; whereas the odor of mine has shifted. any input would be greatly appreciated, I hate wasting solution and the EJ line calls for quite a bit of grow.

It sounds like its off. ... Earth juice smells more sweet like molassas.

I dont like the stuff, I found a lump of coal like substance at the bottom of my 'leaf growth'. Im going to throw away the rest of the lineup and theyve not been opened.

Uhh... never heard of 'leaf growth'. You should get the Catalyst if you don't already have it, to complete the line-up. I use EJ in soil, but I also brew with it. 20 gallons is quite a bit of solution and you really need a good pump (or two) to keep it well aerated. Also, air stones will clog up after just a couple days with bio-slime. Some people improvise by drilling small holes into small lengths of PVC pipe or something along those lines.

The solution should not smell bad though, like sewage or rotten eggs, that would indicate it has gone anaerobic.
