Earliest month in the year to sprout seeds

i have never grown a respectable photo period from seed and I want know if it would be possible to sprout some lsd, Durban poison, and Alaskan purple seeds under a light for afew weeks at the end of February and put them out early in March and grow them out outdoors all the way through July. I want to do this because usually I start from clones that are under 16/8 and being in central California even putting clones out in May I run the risk of early budding and reveg and would like to avoid that without having to continuously grow under a light. Also the symmetricalness of seeded plants feed my ocd hahah, any insight is appreciated

I live in the middle of California. The soonest I plant seeds outside is early May. Earliest I put seedlings outside if I germinate inside would be mid April. The problem is that it gets below 50 degrees here at night in April and some of May. I have to bring them in at night. Hope this helps.

germinate inside early April put outside in late April early May youll never have a issue you have almost 14 hours daylight. Temps won't hurt them but frost will just make sure there's no frost in the forecast but being in Cali it shouldn't be a issue.

I agree! Pretty much the same here on the central Oregon coast too. Start seeds in April take out outside mid -late May.

You can start seeds as early in the year as you like, but you’ll have to keep them indoors under artificial light until all chance of frost and cold weather has passed before moving them outside for the rest of the season.
I'm on the 33 parallel so for me I wait till mid May before putting summer/fall harvest plants outdoors.

Strains will vary as to their veg/flower trigger point, so you would need to know about what they are going to do before you decide when to plant/go outside. I have found that the more Indica a cross has, the earlier it will flower, and later to reveg in the spring.

Here is a tool that I find useful. Add a town near you to find out your particulars.
