Eagle Claws?? WTF?? +REP

My girl is 2 weeks into flower and her leaves are curling under like eagle claws. I need to know what might be causing this. She is fairly healthy, dark green leaves no discoloration whatsoever.

She is growing in organic soil with worm castings, chix manure, aged bat guano, kelp meal, mycorrhizae. I have fed her Biobizz bloom with FF BB.

I hope that this isnt the cause of over-fertilization due to the nutrients in the soil and what I'm adding to it.

If someone possibly knows, PLEASE let me know what it is and how I can fix this problem.

She is only bagseed but I dont care cuz she's my baby..lol..

She is under a 150w HPS. I only water every few days when needed, so I dont think its from overwatering.Here she is, Please take a look and tell me whatcha think..

In the sixth pic it looks like there are leaves curling towards the bottom of the plant as well as the top? That sort of leaf curl can come from heat and/or watering problems.

I did have my HPS kinda close cuz I was running outta room due it getting taller. I found a way to move the light so its not so close now. I hope that might help the situation. I have been reading about this and Heat was an issue that did arise.. Dont think its from overwatering, as I dont go all crazy with that. I only water when needed..

if you have your temps and ph under control it looks like early symptoms of over fertilization to me. i'd flush em and see if they improve. if they get worse after the flush it could be a K deficiency. if the leaves start thickening, becoming almost paper-like then you def have an over fertilization on your hands.

well i flushed Julia with 4 gallons of non chlorinated ph'd water. i hope this helps her.

Does anyone know if the leaves that are curled under will go back to normal or do they stay like that even after the flush? Other then the leaves curling they are nice and dark green with no other signs of nute burn..

I DID flush already. What I need to know is, ARE the leaves gonna stay curled like that or do they go back to NORML?

They will go back to normal after the problem is found and fixed. Maybe you have and they haven't fully recovered yet but leaf curling isn't usually a permanent situation. How did the flushing affect them? Overfertilizing will burn the lowest leaves noticeably before any leaf curling. If you continue having problems, please post more pics like the 6th one that aren't under an HPS. Take pics from the side showing the entire plant, some showing the lowest leaves and some showing the new growth at the tops.

I am having the same problem with one of my girls, i actually since it started went up on my nutes and they are still like that, no sighns of nute burn yet on any of them so no clue i thought it was a moisture problem to be honest... my humidity is only at like 30-40%

She looks hot and stretchy and possibly over watered. You should check your temps and maybe move your light closer depending on how far you keep it above. When I use my 250w hps I keep my plants like 4-6 inches away with a fan blowing at the top to keep them cool. And make sure to let your soil dry completely before watering. Good luck.

I have the light about 8 inches from the tops. I dont want to burn them. Ive had that happen before. Since I flushed her, the budz have continued to get fatter and she seem healthy.
I only water when needed, I dont believe that is an issue. She was overfertilized. ph is roughly 6.8

Don't let you soil dry up. That's the root of the problem. Claws used be the norm during my first cycles because I was going by "let your soil dry up before watering" paradigm. My claw leaves are now just isolated incidents by neglect.

just asking, what do you do to fight off rot and fungal problems? and please don't tell me you "just don't have any".

the claw is often a sign of over nuting~ especially N

I don't get them -knock on wood. Microbes from soil AACT and fungal AACTs fight those battles, not me.

AACT is Active aerated compost tea. There is no real need for the fungal part that's just for me since I don't use much phosphorus elements in my soil except for little bit of rock phosphate. Don't do ACT(active compost tea which is just steeped).

Recipes do vary. Basically it's compost(use only the best quality you can find, Irecently found Alaskan Ancient Forest by General Or to be the best so far) that is steeped with an air stone which is just good enough without having to mess around with alot ofother ingredients like molasses, castings, guano etc. AACTs are nearly useless and waste of time if your plants are already on a synthetic/mineral salt fertilizer plan it's typical ingredients causes imbalances on microbial life in soil. Look around recent threads in the organics, you should find some clever recipes.

Clawing is a classic sign of nitrogen toxicity.
