hi im at the end of my 3rd week of flower

i was wondering if when the lower fan leaves start to die off do you remove them yourself or do u let the girls take what they need from them and shed em herself
i know everyone does things different just looking for opinions thanks

I let them totally shrivel up and the stem become yellow and soft before I pluck them off. If they are not "released" by the plant easily, I let them stay on until they pop off with ease.

agreed, if they dont come off with a gentle tug i leave them be. what is your feeding schedule like? how quickly do your fan leaves die off? if you only use a low nitrogen flower fert throughout flowering you lose leaves from nitrogen def. that would of stayed around and continued to provide energy for the plant, so dont be afraid to give a feeding of higher n veg nutes once in a while when needed.

I agree with dark, I think one of the biggest problems newer growers have is listening to all this hype of bloom nutes and totally forgetting about the N needs of the plant. This goes right along with overwatering and causing problems for you, not saying you personally overwater, just a general observation of newer growers. Give her a little N with her other diet and you will see a big improvement along with a bigger yield for your plant.
Off topic, but congrats Dark on making moderator.

It is only the bottom most fan leaves that are dying slowly has taken like a week and the stems are not so weak that they come away with a tug

I did have a slight nitrogen deficiencey a couple weeks ago but that was quickly sorted thanks to biobizz fish mix

I have only recently added more cfl light to the lower area where the dying leafs are as the top cfl does not penetrate the cannopy well as we all know so they never really got much light

im not worried my plant is dying or anything like that and i know it is normal in some cases for the plant to shed fan leaves that do not get light
i was just curious as to how others deal with dying leaves

As you can see other than a couple leaves dying she seems pretty healthy
