DWC info help.

Hello guys.

I have a Neptune bubbler bucket and this is my first hydroponic or aeroponic setup. I have the Gold Label hydro nutrients kit. (hydro a, hydro b, roots, ultra mg, ultra pk, enzymes) with a 100 watts cfl for 1 plant.
I want to ask, my tap water has 0.4 EC and in my growing schedule flyer says to make it to 1.0 EC (with nutrients ?)
But they also say to add nutes 0.5 ml per liter.
So if I add only 0.5 ml nutes per liter and then check EC is only 0.6.
To bring it up to 1.0 (this is what my EC shows, it means 1000) like they recommend I have to add way more nutes per liter.
I'm afraid I will burn the plant or something if I add so many nutes to bring the EC up to 1.0
Can anyone tell me how I should manage this in a safe way ?

Also is there anything else that I should add in the water besides those nutrients from gold label kit ?

I appreciate your help and time.

Thank you

Thanks for reply Terry, 1/4 seems too low no ? I understand that is safe but I want to give enough food to the plant. Just trying to figure our how these ratios works.
If the producer says I can go 1.0 EC, I want to understand how can I go to 1.0 EC in a safe way without problems.
I want full potential from nutes.

What a plant can handle depends on a lot of variables.

Light intensity, in your case 100w cfl isnt much and you need reduced feeds. The feeds listed are most likely for 1kw or natural sun.

Environmental conditions. For instance if your enviroment is hot the plant will take in more water thus causing the solution to increase in feed.

Strains. Certain strains can handle more than others.

Style of growing. Dwc and other styles require less feed.

So a safe way is to start low and add 0.1 EC increments until you see slight tip burn. Thats when you find out how much the plant can handle.

As firsttimeare stated start low and increase as you go.

Also as terry said, start around 1/4-1/3 of the bottle recommendation. I use General Hydro's nute brand and I only run a portion of the bottle listing as all info online suggests. I've tried to get near the bottles full recommendation but it is too high for the plant. Just keep it low for the start and increase as you go. Preferably find a thread of someone else who uses those nutes and follow their schedule. I grow 1 plant in a bubblebucket and what works for me is around 100-200ppm for the first week, 250-350 second week and at least 500ppm for the 3rd week, but the 3rd to 4th week is where it really tells me if it's hungrier or not so that'll be up to you. In general watch for nute burn(burnt tips) and watch for things such as droopy/wrinkly leaves, to tell you if you are feeding to much(burnt tips) and the later for not enough.

Overall don't worry about what the bottle says, go by what the plant says it wants.

What this guy ^^ says. If you have the EC meter use it. You can always add nutes in increments, by the ML with a syringe or an eye dropper or whatever.
