hey guys
im having a go at dwc and it seems i might have a problem
the roots a taking a real long time to hit the water lots of little ones
but not moving very fast at all
the plant is 5 weeks old
ph 5.8
full strengh nutes
air pump
and its in rw cube and clay pebbles
if some one could tell me how long the avg length of the root should be in that time frame
the water hight is the same as the clay pebbles on the bottom of the rockwool
im using 50%h202 because of my heat issues as well
the plant is about 400mm high and looks good
but im sure i should be longer by now
please help

How about some pics there dude?
Also when did you start using nuts?
My current grow is around 4 weeks old and I'm using 1/2 nuts.
I think they grow faster in the beginning without nuts.
How much bubble action you got in your tub? The water should be rolling on top.
Look at my grow the last pics show a 4 week old plant.
Lower your water to just below the bottom of the net pot.
The roots will grow to the water but if setting in water they are happy and grow slower.

and an FYI all the DWC Pro's left for a different site. I'm just cleaning up and watching IsThisNameTaken & Earl grow some killer crops then I'm out of here.

Peace

dude , i think it s bad news but you can always start again. 5 weeks and no roots dont sound good. 40cm that a good foot and no roots showing W.T.F!

ok droped water level and added a fish filter thing that filters the water then spits it out a tube
so i cut it up and made it a top water dripper and it works on a timer
the roots went nuts and things are good
the top dripper seems to be the go

yep, rw retains way too much water. as you can see, lowering the water level tricks the roots out (the bubble pop and splash the medium, tricking water seeking roots downward. looks like you are on your way and good to go ;)

Yep been doing Dwc for about 7 yrs was organic for a minute, to messy not clean enough dont get me wrong I still have a 4x4 organic bed lol, but I prefer DWC, some people say it doesnt have that earthy taste or structure I have personally gain that in DWC (secrets) lol will post some pic later
