Hope this helps a few of you guys that are a little strapped for cash and need to root a few clones.
This is super simple.
Supplies needed include:
1. 1gal storage tub from dollar general=$1
2. Aquarium air pump=$15
3. 1/4" air hose x 2' long=under $1
4. Air stone 4"long or any small stone=$2
5. Water weenie=$2
With 1.5" hole saw or freehand with razor blade make your holes in the lid. With 5/16" drill bit make a hole near the top of the tub for the air line to pass through. Insert the airline into the hole and attach your airstone. Make sure your stone sits flush on the bottom. Hook the other end up to your air pump. Then cut the water weenie into 1.5" sections and then cut the section again so that the plug will fit snugly into the hole in the lid. Fill your reservoir up till the water reaches the bottom of the hole that you drilled for your air line. Once again make sure the air line hole is as far up on the tub as possible so that you can fill your res as much as possible so that the water will cover as much stem as possible. I won't go into cloning techniques because there are plenty of threads here.
I use advanced nutrients 3 part grow, micro and bloom at 1/4 strength. Once roots show I switch to 3/4 strength. I ph my water to 6.0 and I use ozarka spring water because of its calcium content. I keep the water temp around 80 degrees. I also use another clear tub on top for a humidity dome(not pictured).
I use Olivia's cloning gel but have good results without the gel as well. The reservoir stays clean for weeks at a time but you will need to check ph regularly.
Hope this helps! Happy growing
