Has anyone ever built a dwc 5 gallon connected with pvc pipping? If so did you use uniseals or rubber grommets? What size drill was used? Im trying to avoid leaks as much as possible. Thanks

I'm in the process of makin one ;) Four 5-gallon buckets connected with 1.5" PVC. Drilled 2" holes with a holesaw and went from there. I used Uniseals as well. I plan on postin some pics of it when its done. Gotta do a test run once I get a water pump. Holla

Alright koool bro, does the uniseal website tell you the hole size to drill when purchasing the uniseals?

Yea. I checked a couple different sites just to be safe tho. For 1.5" PVC it says drill a 2.5" hole. I started at 2" with the holesaw and just used a razorblade to trim around and open em up a bit. They were so tight the Uniseals snapped when they finally went in. The only thing is that 5gallon buckets are round and not square, therefore the Uniseal wont be completely flush all the way around. I'm using roofing sealant(the black polyurethane stuff) thats supposed to last for 50 years lulz. Should work pretty well. I'm not sure, but I'm thinking an easier way would be to see if you could slide a C-clamp or something inside the bucket and use that to help push the Uniseal a little farther in the bucket. The tighter it iz...the less chance you have of leaks later ya know? I have most of my pics taken, but I dont have any of the assembled unit yet because I havent got my water pump. If you want I can post what I have tho....? HOllaz
