Yeah you should move that light about a foot closer. The recommended distance is 12-18 inches. Also, do you have a fan gently blowing on them? If not, I suggest you do that too to give them thick, strong stems.

Yeah I came today and looked at them and knew that the light needed to be closer
Other than the first week or so (while they were getting started) I've had my light pretty close to the plants, closer to 8" than 12". I know it's pretty darn close, but the closer the better, unless burn of course.

The thermo I use has an outdoor probe. I hang this probe from my reflector to see what the temps are at the top on my plants directly under the light, I'm sure you can see it in my pics. This gives me a pretty good reading of the temps where they matter the most. Seems to work so far, I had that one little incident, but it didn't amount to anything to worry about.

Yeah my plants stretched out even more and might die as a result of having the light too far away, I moved it to about 14 inches from the top of my seedling 2 day ago and gave it a 1/4 shot of Boost & Root 66 according to the nute schedule. I came today and the stems are stronger and a tad thicker but they might not make it. These hydro systems are amazing, I have never seen a plant stretch that fast ever, and I have always been a outdoor guy. Wish me luck I will post the pics one way or the other. $100 mistake for seeds Damn!. They could make it though weed is very tough. Stresses in Cali

Bummer dude, and I seem to have all the luck. I have read to keep the lights high when starting new seeds. What am I missing here?

My girls are starting to stand up a little and the leaves just keep growing bigger and greener they just might pull thru.

I was just reading the bible here and Cervantes says not to use fertilizer on seedlings. I can't find an explanation of the reasoning, but maybe that's the cause of your stretching.

Alright I think I made it through this stretch shit, all but one plant looks really good and the other will come around. Here is a pic of my Cheese in the bucket 4 days ago when I reoported they had fallen down all 6 plants looked like this.

Today after putting the lights 12 inches closer and adding some root nutes and boost.

I think from this point they should survive and thrive I changed the resevoirs on both the Bubbleponics & Bucketeer and added a 1/4 nute solution.
Amazingly there was long strands of roots already in the bubbleponics from all 4 sites. These systems are amazing so far, I just need to keep learning and learn from the many mistakes I have made and will make. Breathing easy in CALI

Great job ghost! They are looking a million times better. Just be sure to keep those lights as close as possible without burning them, and keep an eye out for nute burn. If you see the tips start to burn at all, immediately change your solution. I made the mistake of simply diluting the nutes when I saw the first signs, and it rapidly got worse.

I know every body ahs told you but you should get a fan on those and maybe a few times a day brush your hand on them to sim some wind. Those stems are a little too thin for you. Also lower the light as low as it goes. Nice green. No burns. :

I do have a fan blowing on them and my light is about a foot away (11 inches) from the plants. They just need a little time to catch the stretch, if you know what I mean. Thanks for checking me out and any suggestions are helpful and taken.

Alright, they're picking up the pace man. Looking good!

I agree, 11" is plenty close for now, and a gentle fan will do. I was always afraid of putting too much air on them. I've read the fan should be blowing from under the leaves, not down on them.

Keep it up man!
