DWC Air Pump Question

I am currently running a Top-Fin AIR3000 dual outlet fishtank pump to a 10 gal bin, with 5.5 gal of water. I started getting a little root browning, and I have no way of keeping the temperature any lower. Im only running a 2' 4 bulb t5, so its not getting extremely warm, but im sure its above 68 degrees. If I got a stonger air pump would it help?
Also, I cannot figure out what GPH the top fin pump is, but would this one be better? http://www.everydayhydro.com/sda202.html

I would add a tablespoon per gallon of hydrogen peroxide. That will help oxygenate your roots and should bring them back to white.

Thanks, thats my plan I just have to fgure out where to get some around here. my local hydrostore doesnt carry it for some reason.

freeze plastic water bottles and put them in your tank to keep the temps down. the h2o2 is a good idea but it dosent get to the root of the problem, temps.

Thanks Ill try it! Would keeping the water moving with a better pump of a circulation pump help at all? Would it be beneficial in any other way?

Lol don't go by post count. There's some people on here who don't know the first thing about growing but sit on here all day and bs around, so their post count is high as fuck. I'm not saying bigv doesn't know what he's talking about, because his advice is sound, it's just generally bad practice to judge somebody's experience by post count.

The only reason to use food grade (35%) is to save money. I spent $70 on 2 gallons of 35%, had to order online from a lab supply store, but I add .3ml/gal. Meaning my waterfarm 8pack with ~35 gallons only needs 10.5 ml, or roughly 2 teaspoons. So it's going to last a looong time.

wow every post excepct 2 were even close to helping you with your problems, one add a frozen water bottle to stablize res temps, DO NOT USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, AND BIGV1976 QUITE TELLING PEOPLE TO USE THE SHIT, its for cleaning it remove skin from your jands what do you think it does toroot tissue, you clearly have no clue what your doing, every time someone has a problem you tell them to use it. Shut the fuck up with your dumb ass advice, ok no back to the OP's problem once you get temps in check bring you microculture up with some inoculants or worm/bat/shroom tea, keep ph @ or around 6.0 your problem will solve itself like nature intended.

Don't listen to this guy. h2o2 has been proven effective time and time again, by both personal and professional operations. It doesn't mix well with CERTAIN organic components, I honestly can't tell you what. I do know that people on these boards are having great success using h2o2 in both organic and sterile systems. So don't listen to the guy telling you otherwise.

Hmm. Ok so can the water be tool cold? I know 68 is the goal but what if it was lower?

If it's too cold, growth will be stunted. Higher heat=faster metabolism. Unfortunately, it also provides a breeding ground for problems. I would never aim for below 65 personally. From what I've seen, anything in the 60's is great. Below that, you may start running into problems. Nutrient lockout being one of them.

On a side note, try moving your air pump into a colder area. I moved mine outside my tent(74 degrees) to the room both of my tents are in (64 degrees). The cooler air being pushed into the solution will help keep it from warming up so much

Are you just going to attack any member who advocates h2o2 or ever actually provide info that supports your abstract self-made theory?

Scientific studies proving its benefit? its kills unwanted bacteria and fungi. you should really try shit first hand before you talk shit on it, I use h2o2 on a regular basis in flower.

here allow me to post you a link and to paste a line or two from it.......http://www.cannabisculture.com/v2/articles/1378.html
Hydrogen peroxide will most definitely reduce any possibility of bacterial and fungal contamination. Farmers in the US use peroxide for everything from disinfection of the dairy barn and hog pens to increasing crop yields by 20 to 30%. It is also commonly added to the drinking water of animals to reduce the need for antibiotics.
In the aeroponic system, H2O2 replicates nature's own antibacterial mechanism and prevents water from growing putrefactive bacteria which can cause the dreaded bacterial wilt, root rot and countless other diseases.

but back to OP, you can do one of two things, you can run a sterile res (h2o2) OR you can run beneficial bacteria and fungi. personally I run beneficial bacteria in veg but a sterile res in flower. Mainly because I've found running a sterile res(adding a bunch of h2o2 on a regular basis) seems to keep things cleaner than running beneficial bacteria, the only real reason I run bennies in veg is I have no chiller in veg but do in flower. I use igloo coolers as grow chambers and don't have much problem except in the summer with temps in veg. You can set a cooler at 65 degrees and it will stay that way for days.
