Ducting help? First time 1000w grow

So I bought an "all inclusive" fan/ducting kit from my local hydro store ... except I don't think it included everything :p

I got 2 6in inline fans, 3 packages of flex ducting ... and nothing else.

Obviously I'll need tape and clamps.. but is there anything else I'm missing? My tent has spots for fans and ductwork, but it looks like there should be a face plate attached. Also, the ducting doesn't fit the exhaust port for my reflector .. are there adapters that would fit internally to connect the two?

Sorry for all of the questions, I'm new to the big boy light scene and any help at all would be greatly appreciated! A few pictures attached for reference

You only need one 6 inch fan for the reflector hood (and to maintain negative pressure for the passive intake). You could use the second for carbon filter or just have the filter be the first point of intake and have that air go through the hood and out your tent. Yes they make attachments to take say a 4 inch hole in your hood to 6inches so the ducting will fit properly. What are those fans rated at as far as CFM and what are the dimensions of your tent? 4x4x7?

My tent is 98x55x79 and the fans are rated at 160 cfm .. my biggest issue is that the supplied ducting isn't big enough to connect over the fan/ exhaust port for my hood. It's a big kahuna reflector if that helps.

Ducting isn't my strong point, and most of the tutorials I've found are for more... conventional usage of duct work ha.

Well let's say your hood is 8 inch you go to home Depot and get an 8 inch to six inch fitting and use the six inch ducting and you're done.

And for that size tent you're definitely going to need both fans on max. Just use the second for your carbon filter rather than using the carbon filter > duct > hood > duct > fan

Google "grow weed easy exhaust" and just go check out their illustrations. Should help if what I've provided isn't sufficient. It isn't rocket science. It works basically the way you think it would.

Kinda figured it wouldn't be rocket science , just didn't want to buy superfluous attachments and all that to just have to return most of it later :p

The outer diameter of the hood attachment and the fans are 6 in, and so is the inner diameter of the ducting that came with the kit - therefore they don't overlap like I thought they should in my head (flex duct over the fan housing etc). I know it's called duct tape - probably for a reason - but for a cheapo one time run, do you think the tape and a ring clamp would be sufficient, or should I find something to bridge the gap to allow less air leakage?

I mean my ducting fits over my hood and they're both 6inch. Just gotta fuck with it a bit and a duct clamp is all you need. You can't use duct tape if it makes you feel better but not necessary.

All that ducting is is a coiled up copper wire. It's flexible enough to snuggly get it to slide over it. Zoom in on the pics I provided. Mines clear so you can see the metal and I've got about three bands of the coil in front of the clamp and everything is air tight.

Thanks for all the info lachrymology! Like I said in the original post, it's my first foray into air cooling hoods and the like. Every other grow has been under 400w lights in a closet basically, so I want to make sure I get this as close to perfect as I can.

This tent is fucking huge and the more I'm looking at it, the more I think I'll need a second 1000w on the other side once I save up enough for one.

I think my end goal is to "split" the tent into a late flower side and an early flower side if that makes sense? Basically I want to move towards to a perpetual cycle, and the one half would be plants on the later half of the flower period and the other would be just starting. I already have a space set up for seedlings/clones, but lacked a space dedicated to flower or veg.

Now that I'm getting the tent set up, things should be going a lot smoother.

Just stagger when you put groups of clones in by two weeks and once you get to the fourth set you're harvesting the first you put in eight weeks ago. Harvest every 2 weeks.
