Drying should take at least 7 days; more like 8 or 9. Leave the plant as whole as possible; don’t cut it into bits. Trim off the fan leaves; cut any leaf with a stem and “just the tips” of the sugar leaves that do not have visible trichomes. Snip the plant once at the base to harvest it and hang the whole plant at ambient room temperature somewhere that is dark and dry. Like a closet or grow tent. No fans; passive air exchange with limited circulation.
This to me is the most critical part....
Wait until the stems begin to snap when bent over to finish trim and jar up the bud. If the stem bends over and creases without snapping it’s not quite ready to jar up yet. Even when you do put the buds into jars leave the lid on loose for the first night. Get a good whiff inside the jars the next day...if it smells good like some dank weed you can seal them. If it smells like hay you fucked up and either picked too early or jarred it up too early. Don’t jar up wet bud it will mold every time.

Looks frosty so it should hold terps pretty well. I slow dry mine, 14 to 21 days. 70f and 55 to 60 rh and a couple large fans keeping the air moving. Then to jars where I burp 2 times a day for a week and once a week for the next 2. Terps carry over real well.

Its worth noting that I dry trim. I hang entire plant and dont trim a single leaf for drying. I will sometimes use a rack for a few days after dry trim if I think its still a bit moist after trimming.

Just how I roll

Dry trim is really good for those who can control RH as well.

Less humidity more leaves stay on for that slow dry.

I'm with ya.

Main thing is dont jar to wet, burp till your certain, and give it 3 weeks after it hits jar before you judge it.

I got a white og I hadnt cracked jar on in 2 months... its 2 times better than it was when it was only cured 2 weeks.

I cut each cola branch, wet trim and hang in my dark closet for about four days, five for the main center bud. I do not let them go until the stems snap, you have to learn how they feel when you squeeze them. It should not feel brittle and still have some give. I then cut all the buds off the stems and jar in one quart masons with a hygrometer. If the humidity gets to 64% I dump the jar out on a plate and let them dry for a while. I rotate the hygrometers between the jars and measure where things are at until they settle around 58%. Periodically checking them, you can tell when they are in a safe place if the buds stop sticking together.

As you can already see there are many approaches to drying and you will have to learn what works for you and your environment (room temp and humidity). Keeping your jar humidity below 65% will stop them from molding and let you slowly cure to get the scents you are after.

These are the hygrometers I jar with, you can find cheaper ones but these have served me well and use standard computer coin cells CR2032.

You can smoke fresh dried cannabis, will just taste a bit minty, but will get better over time in the jar.

@buyyouabeer is rite, YOUR environment will dictate details of your dry phase. I guess the staple thing is make sure temp and humidity are in a range that allowes for a controlled evaporation of moisture. I dont trim because the excess vegetation allows bud to dry slower and seems to hold terps better. But that might not be for you. First time just dry, get in jars and keep a keen eye on it. You gotta look and burp every day, no exceptions

7-10 days sometimes more. Depends on the humidity the last 24hrs prior to chopping and depends on how wet/dry the medium is when you chop. Lots of factors. But generally 7-10 days is the average.

I hang mine for 7 days or longer than I put it in this for a nother 7 days then it goes in the jars for at least the same time with burping 3 time a day and it works fine for me

When I chop my lady I plan on hanging her after a wet trim (have my reasons) no fan just my exhaust on lowest setting and keeping rh between 40-50%

That'll do right?
Long as some good air is passing over em so ya don't mold.see why not.give it a shot and keep an eye on em.

My tent is airtight, so when my exhaust is the only thing on air is constantly moving and at a good rate. But I could hit them with a small 6" clip on fan.

When I turn my lights out in my tents, I turn my intake off completely but I keep fans in the tent on low and keep exhausting. And temps get down to around 68⁰ also the walls of my tents suck in lol. So I would definitely say air is moving pretty good in there.

I guarantee once I go bigger and out of the tents, I end up missing the tents & the money im saving turning all that shit off xD
