im going to try a branch when i chop my ShipWreck. Im going to whole hang the entire plant this time around in my grow room. No run after this one done.

I was thinking along the lines of....The buds although they'll be in a consistent 55% rh environment,once they reach rh equilibrium with their surrounding atmosphere,they will continue to drop in RH albeit slowly until they are jarred. They need to be enclosed to keep the moisture at the desired RH.Hung in a open room freely,I suspect they will dip past 55% due to evaporation and air movement in the room/drying area.
I'm saying they will crumble because they won't maintain 55%RH in open air for long.This is pure speculation on my part,I've only had my buds drop past 58 a few times since monitoring it.
I'd like to see the results of your findings,I'm very interested.

I think this is where you might be going wrong. Don't burp your jars that often. You want air exchange but not too much oxygen. The way I cure is like this: burp the jars once a day for the first three days. Then for the next two weeks, burp them only twice a week. Then during the next (3rd) week, only burp your jars once. Then leave them sealed for at least a week and enjoy :). It's a four week and three day cure. After reading all the info here I think your messing up the cure. That's just how I do it, you can do it anyway you like but remember the goal is; gas exchange but not too much oxygen.

Depending how dry they got before going in the jar, I like this plan as a guideline. I have had some buds get almost too dry and I chucked them in the jar, burped once in week one and forgot about them in the back of the closet for three months. Turned out bomb.

so remove as much oxygen as possible, like a vac bag, but not till they crush themselves. Open, pour onto a plate, pour back in, like 10 seconds time, seal and cool dark for 24 hours, then repeat. we dont want them to get dryer, we just need to exchange air.

Just tryn to fine tune my cure, but i still want them to be sticky-ish, and not powder,lol. Kinda following GML on this

Na oxygen is needed for the gas exchange. But its much more simpler than I'm explaining, my apologies I'm not the best at explaningn things. But basically to achieve the gas exchange just burp the jars (every now and again I dump all the buds out and put them back in the jar this. This is so the stuff that was on the bottom is now on top and vice versa.) for like 10-15 min. and then close them. And don't open them again until the next time to do so. So youre basically just opening and closing jars the only thought that has to go into it is when you open them. Because opening them everyday is too much oxygen.

Hi P. I'm in the same boat. But I'll take strength over smell any day. What strain was it & how exactly did you finish the feed & flush it. I had hay smelling Ami haze but it could stun a buffalo (happy face).

this is close to what I do... open it in the first few days (I find I get light condensation on the inside of the jar the first few days the bud isn't 100% dry when it goes in) then the jar is closed and hardly opened for a month..... once or twice per week max sounds right with the bud sitting in the jar at least a month....

anyways, i was wondering, if you just hang your plant in the area at 68F and 55% humidity for like a month, isnt that curing? so chop, hang for a month, trim, jar, no burp needed?

do not do this. its not the same thing as curing. you cant cure while the plant is in the air. it has to be in some type of container to cure. unless you have the best drying room in the world.

Anyone ever have a grow emit very little odor the entire time and then you chop and its like a skunk pissed in your house? I'm going through this right now. Everything looked amazing and I've had to put up a tent with new carbon scrubber to tame the odor.

Used to hanging my buds for 7-10 days then.trim
And turkey bag them and burp them a few time and they are ready to smoke
