drying fan leaves

i am in my 7th week of flowering and the fan leaves seem to be dying. is this normal?

it seems, from what i've read, that clipping them is not advisable. but i've seen pictures of people's plants where the leaves seemed to have been removed.

If they are dead for sure you can take them off but if they are just yellowing thats normal as the plant goes through its life cycle and in flower you cut the nitrogen back they yellow as its the process of life.I leave them if they dont fall off myself

would clipping them allow more light to the buds? is that important?
