Drying buds in a dessicator?

Hey what do you guys think about hanging your buds in a sealed container above a bunch of dry rite?

I've been hearing that it's not good if your buds dry too quickly.

I know that heating is bad, but is just drying out too quickly bad also? Why?

Dri rite is a dessicant. It comes in granules. It is absorbent to moisture in the air, and the blue granules kinda turn pink when they absorb moisture. You can't leave it out because it will all turn pink, but in a sealed container it basically sucks the moisture out of anything near it. So it dries stuff out really quickly with no heat.

yeah i was thinking of this recently. well cured bud is bud that is dryed evenly so the outside doesnt dry out faster than the inside making it crispy. my guess is that using dessicant would make some crispy buds.

has there been a definitive answer on this? any anecdotes from an experienced grower? I know mushroom growers use this and it works great... but mushrooms are to be completely cracker dry .

damp-rid takes the water out of everything, if you have enough of it in a sealed container it will take nearly all moisture

Old thread, but yes I always keep DriRite around. Initially, it was prefect for making mushies utterly dry. Dries them absolutely perfect and I wouldn't dry mine any other way. Eventually, I started using DriRite with buds too. I works very well. Good airtight tupperware containers, a layer of DriRite on the bottom, cover with a paper towel and lay buds on top of the paper towel. Too many at once will slow down the drying. Try it out and compare it to slow cure methods. I prefer the color-indicating DriRite. At least you know when it's pink/purple then it's time to put it in the oven and rejuvenate it.

Dri Rite is for retards. there!!!!! Fook me!!!!! Who is running this site now??? Is this site just for new growers now or what? have all the old timers left? Who the hell would want to use an a substance to speed the dry rate? just stick those crap buds into the oven.
