I been drying for 3 days now and I noticed some of my buds were dryer then others while others were still pretty moist / sticky hose were the fatter ones anyhow.

Needless to say i put it in a mason jar....

Speaking of, what does everyone do to the very tiny bud do you guys try and savage everything or just what is average not the tiny little stuff

boy that small schwappy stuff can be demoralizing... most people make hash out of anything below a certain size - like say a solid bong hit's worth. if it takes longer to trim than to smoke it's a pain

I put it to one side, with the intention of making hash (which never happens). Then, a month or two down the line, when I run out of weed and get desperate, I raid it.....

If you smell hay or fresh cut grass it is chlorophyll and with time and aging most of this will reside unless its scraggly leafy sativa as some of it will smell like hay no matter what but this is an indicator of low quality then too .. Open and burp your container or jar daily and in a short time the smell should reside .

I will not cut and keep a bud under a quarters size and I use my thumb for comparison . I do make oil , hash as well as medibles so this works for me and my patients as we only smoke premium flowers .

Run out of wed??? What's that about... Hash or butter for the small stuff. Hay smell should go away in jars

I never had any weed smell like hay. Does it really get better in jars? My thought is if it doesn't smell awesome at chop, it never will smell awesome.

I ended up drying for like 2 1/2 3 days and I put in a jar last night..

The small shit I can make butter out of, do I need to cure it for a while or can I make some butter tonight?

from what I been told, put butter in crock pot, allow it to turn to liquid then put in fridge for 30mins then scoop out the solids and toss the liquids and then take a cham cloth and wrap the MJ in that, and let it sit in the crock pot for 6hrs on low, then pour product into jar and put into fridge and bam its done.

How much butter can I put into crock pot? 3 sticks for say hand full of MJ in cham cloth?

I see no point in clarifying buyer first.... I put buyer water and trim in crock pot all at once
. 4hrs on high 4 hrs on low, strain into a pot, squeeze butter out of trim (I use a potato ricer) then put it in the refrigerator over night... Scoop butter off in morning then tenderly in a quarry of water and back into fridge next day collect butter melt in to mold or ice cube trays and boom goes the dynamite

When cooking with it the first time, would a scoop of it or two be good for brownies.
Re solidified after the cook is good butter, the remelt is to clean some contaminants and make it taste better.... Brownies will taste strong not so good without re melt

Explain what you mean by will taste strong, not good with out remelt, so what I should do is remelt the butter again before use?
Microwave the butter again right before I use it?

I'm not able to grow year-round here...sad times indeed when I get to the bottom of the last jar and realise it's all gone and I'm still 2 months away from my next grow!! :(

no nana no no no.....
You want to re melt it in a quart of clean water.after you cook it and re solidify it, out will have a nasty sludge on the bottom of the butter, plant material that floated and other nasty shit. So you rinse it off then re melt it in clean water and that nasty shit releases
Let it re solidify once more then you have a cleaner product that tastes much better then I melt it once more just to put it into a more storable form

I think hay smell means it was dried too quick, do you leave the buds on the stem? If not, it should help with more even and slower drying. Curing will definitely remove the hay smell, I've had bud smell of freshly mowed grass, after a few days of curing the smell was barely noticeable and the smell it had before harvest was coming back.

Well some buds were more dry then others, so I put into a jar and figured I'll let sit for a few days.
