Drying and Going on Vacation!

Hey guys,

I've run into a bit of a problem. I've finally reached that beautiful day of harvest two days ago. The problem is I'm going on vacation in two days for about a week. I thought it would be fine because it will just hang dry while im gone. But its pretty warm in my apartment, I don't have a way to cool it down, and now im worried it will dry quicker than 10 days. It wasn't a huge harvest at all, about 60 grams wet. Everything I read says its bad if it dries too much while hanging before curing.

So my question is, is there anything I can do to it while im gone? Should I leave it hanging, put it in jars, etc?

A bit of a pickle.

The few times this has happened to me, I've hired a trusted friend to come handle it for me.

You can slow down the drying process by limiting airflow(jarring it, closet with little to no airflow), but then you run the risk of mold or powdery.

Thanks for responding. And yea that's what I was concerned about putting it in the jars. Would jarring it with a silica packet be a bad idea?

Just leave it hang in the coolest darkest spot till you get back - be fine :-)
You don't know where he lives. You live in a cold, damp climate. He could live in Namibia, Phoenix, Torrance for all you know. Drying isn't a "one size fits" thing like you seem to believe it is.

Hang in a black plastic bag after removing large leaves , it will be perfect for trim on return (leave bag open side down )
Use a paper bag on return to remove moisture slowly

Ah ... good ol’ Torrance
Just pulled an L.A. town out of my ass. Don't actually have much experience there.

Triggered again.

Please provide links to all of the posts in which I was discussing drying and curing. Here's a hint - you can't. You and I have similar drying methods, dumb dumb, but you're so easily triggered that you fly off the deep end in almost every thread. I picture spit flying out of your mouth as you scream at the monitor while bashing your keyboard with your fists. Good stuff.
