Hi everyone hope all is well in our community!

Today I have a newbie question,

I have fresh frozen trims/popcorn nugs and was wondering besides the ice water method can I use fresh frozen trim with dry ice to make hash or does it have it to be dry trim for it to work with the dry ice ? Thanks.

not at all

a tric is a tric

cold water and ice will break the surface tension

snapping the trics from the organic (dry or fresh)

ensure you use the right bags

good luck
So youre saying I cant use fresh frozen trim with dry ice?

It all comes back to the quality of your base stock. Either method uses cold to make the trics brittle so they can be snapped off and filtered out.

Only thing that made me think was that the trim after getting defrosted will be wet and probably wont work with dry idk just what I was thinking

I dry ice all my trim. I save it up and then do a bunch at once. I always use dried trim but it should work with fresh frozen.

I always process my trim with dry ice. But I dry it first and save it up until I have a bunch. It seems like wet frozen would end up making a mess which is why I use dry ice and not water. I have two five gallon buckets. One I cut the bottom out and have the screen covering the end. That one sits inside the other. I toss the trim in, add some dry ice, put the lid on, and shake. Since the trim is dry and dry ice evaporates everything stays dry. Frozen wet trim would start to thaw out and everything would be all wet. With dry ice and dry trim everything is nice and dry. It goes straight into a jar.

Ff works great with dry ice. Wouldnt do ff with ice water
Other people saying its not lol Im confused guys can I use fresh frozen trim which is technically wet after u defrost. CAN I USE THAT TYPE OF MATERIAL TO EXTRACT HASH WITH DRY ICE? Thanks

I'm saying you can
Was just weird to me because when you defrost the frozen material it has a wet texture and was thinking u can only
Use it with ice and water instead of dry ice that requires dry material. Thanks for your reply

the whole deal relies on being as cold as you can get

again to snap the trics off the organic and into the water or ice

you need water for the trics to go some place

otherwise catching the trics is really hard

practice makes perfect

hence I prefer the water method with crazy diy bags

U confused me even more lol now u making me think I was right thinking wet trims cant be used with dry ice because like I said after you take out the frozen material from the freezer it becomes a little bit wet is that ok with dry ice?

I have done many dry ice extractions. The material shoulsnt defrost on process. Unless you are running to mutxh material at once. The dry ice is much colder than regular ice.
How much material should I use at once with fresh frozen trim and dry ice also whats the yield ratio?

I have no idea as to you yield. Will totaly depend on quality of trim. Also cant tell you hoq mutch at a time. My trim goes into brown paper bags as its trimed. I have never weighed it before. Guessing abought a third of a gal of dry ice and 2 fluffy gallons of trim. The dry ice and shaking turn the trim into powder. When im done it looks like the bucket isb1/4 full
