Dry Brittle Leaves? Help.

Hi RIU.

Still partially a Amateur but have couple grows under my belt and am pretty good at reading my girls. Just want a few of my fellow growers opinions on this.

Setup:
400w Duel Spec HPS
Super Grow Soil
11l Pots
Temps: Unknown (not too hot, hygrometre broke)
RH: Unknown but LOW.
PH: 6.4

So read google, and searched RIU. I could take pictures but theres nothing to see. Looks healthy as anything, nice green etc. Leaves very dry and brittle and sort of come up at the edges to make it look like there trying to retain moisture.

Think this could all lead to the low RH? or something else? Bit stumped. Got wet towels in there (helps some what) but just bought a humidifier but wont get here till Tuesday..

Can someone give me some advice or suggestions....
Anything else you want to know, ask.

Pics would help? my guess from your description is Heat-stress. during veg humidity should be 60%+. What is your light schedule and how far away is it, Temp could be a bit high too?

Thats not a problem will sort some pics out when home from work this evening. Like I say from pictures doesn't look like anything wrong. I know my humidity is no where near 60% plus hence why my humidifier should be here tomorrow which will help I think. Also gonna make some home made C02 bottles with yeast. Light schedule is 18/6 and I thought they might be too close so raised yesterday and about 24-28 inches away from the canopy. Thing is only showing on the oldest plant. My sprouts are fine and are closer to it. Did leave grow door open today to see if any improvement as will make it colder.

Do you think could be the humidity being majorly like 0% pretty much?

Thanks for your response.

0% aaaaaahhhhhhhhh

Try misting , and put bucket of water/air-stone in it in your grow area and or damp towels hanging to help raise humidity...
... should help until you get your humidifier.

Your 400 watt is ok at 16" but being your RH is Low, could be effecting top of your plants... ie. curling up on tips and edges of leaves, Heat stress, caused by lights too low/ or humidity and Temp outta wack.

Yeah tell me about it. Right nightmare. Its a cupboard (closet if your american) and just brick walls and some my clothes still hang in there so like no moisture in there. I mist when im there (helps some what) got a bucket of water in there and 2 wet towels in there. One below light 1 hanging above.

Yeah generally my 400w is ok a lot lower but thought would experiment see if got better. I really think is humidity issue then by sounds of it? When I just re dampen towels etc and mist they get temporarily better. Just wanted second opinion. Hopefully my ioniser and humidifier comes tomorrow and going straight in! Thanks for letting me pick your brains. + Rep sir.
