Dry, Brittle Bud

The banana kush that was harvested got hung up 6 days ago. They were hung in a closet. I didn't have a fan in the closet for the first 2 days of the drying process but we got that fixed asap. The problem is that after less then a week the stems are still green but the buds feel almost like if I squeeze them they will crumble and fall apart. Not powder dry, but getting there. Is it possible to over dry your buds, or is it something else that was done to reach this affect? Please help. Don't wanna grow beautiful buds and screw up the drying/curing process.

go to cure the moisture left in the stems will rehydrate the bud then just burp the jars to let moisture out until there done

Time to jar them. The moisture will come back a bit during the curing process. You don't want them too wet when you jar them otherwise you'll have mold. The point of drying them is to get the majority of moisture out before they go into jars. As the previous poster stated, the moisture that's left in the stem and in the center of the buds will come out again once they are jarred. If it's only been six days, you've got nothing to worry about.

if they get to damp after jarring them try butting them in a paper bag for a day or two but it should be uneccicary as long as you let the jars air out twice a day for about a half hour

Well cut em' off and started curing and they stayed pretty much dry but gained a little give in the bud itself. Smells amazing in the containers. Does growing in hydro vs. dirt have affect on the drying time?

After over a week of curing the buds are almost perfect. The smoke was a little harsh the first few days but has extremely mellowed out. Wonderful smoke. Thanks for the help everyone.
