Drug testing

So I had to go back to the doc because I thought I had a refill on a script that I didn't. He was a little short with me today but then the lies started. He asked me for a urine sample. I looked at him a little,odd as I already had my spring tune up and urine was taken then. So he says to me that everyone who is taking opiates has to be tested for opiates. I told him that was a lie.As he's opening the package he informs me that everything I've ingested will show up....this is when I realized I was being drug tested. I asked him if he wanted to come with me so it wouldn't cheat. I was so fucking mad I could hardly piss! Not being 100% sure that he was lying, I called the medical council and asked what the policy was on opiates. No policy....so this fuck best be explaining why after 16 years of being on increasing does of several opiates I am being drug tested. If he gives me some bullshit excuse, I will file a complaint against him. If I was a drug addict that would be one thing. Making me feel like a drug addict is not acceptable.

I would highly advise taking a half hour and chatting to a lawyer on this issue.

I would imagine there's not a lot of doctors that far up north...Not like buddy is in Toronto.

Even if in a small town you're probably still at least one of a dozen, probably much more, capable of creating a problem just because of your prescription and the nature and characteristics of the drug that it deals with.

It's no secret that it's heavily abused, and people who shouldn't take them get them get them from people who have them. They ran fast, hard and loose with it for what... a decade, at least? Only from time to time would they ever mention it and always from the pov of the "user as a drug seeker"... that's to say punitively. Like we can't administer this bullshit any more reasonably without going full out treating everyone like assumed criminals just to cover our precious asses as your drug dealers..

So that's what happens, I think. A body turns up from time to time... maybe one of them is a little more reckless or innovative than others and calls some attention towards a specific doctor and always on the back burner a scapegoat is waiting to be had. Said doctor does the only responsible thing he's willing to do and takes it out on the patients by treating them like assumed criminals because he's just your doctor and not actually the middle man gate keeper between you and big pharm.

I guess their tools are limited, is what I'm saying.

Ya it is a continuation from last weeks visit. I am between a rock and a hard place right now. If I would have known for certain there was no policy, I would have told him to piss in his own cup. I am so close to being off this shit for good, and then I have to deal with wcb....So I am going to ask him to explain why he drug tested me, but let him know that I know now so fuck off. If he doesn't at least admit that it was a vindictive move and apologizes he can explain it to his medical board. These docs come up here thinking they are god. It's been one of those weeks medically. My type 1 diabetic kid got a new family doc....ordered a fasting glucose, which is only for type 2, then ordered him a script for antibiotic with the wrong dosage. Even when I spoke with the lady at the medical council she said to me "well you know there are two sides...." You just know it will fall on deaf ears because they are so desperate for doctors up here.....god I am so angry with this guy!

Probably scare tactics more than anything...
I actually asked my doctor to test me each visit...because I had had a situation with some tainted black market weed I had purchased
and it was spiked so to speak...so its for my protection
so I get tested every visit , and always match my list of prescriptions....so its really nothing to worry about.

He prescribed you meds in the first place. If you have an issue with them, he is the one who put those issues on you by prescribing in the first place, without telling you what could happen after chronic use.
He is responsible for anything that happens to you from that day forward!
Hope ya get it figured.
There seems to be more here than meets the eye.

Gb I've been taking an increasing dose of morphine for almost 20 years. I am at the tail end of withdrawing from this shit for good. Just because I didn't do what he wanted me to, he was a vindictive little prick who decided to try and pull one over on me....I could care less if they want to drug test me-I have nothing to hide and I'm kind a curious about how much mj might be in my system. It was the way he went about it. I deserve an apology and if he's not prepared to give me one with an explanation that I actually believe, then he will go before the medical board in September because I will file a complaint against him. I think leaf may be right....spend the money and see what a lawyer says.

I am still reeling from this. The little puke picked a fight with wrong person. I don't have a life because I have chronic pain so I have alllllllllllll the time in the world to work on this. I'm just getting it down in paper while it's fresh and stinging. And dan if I encountered the problems you did, I would ask to be tested too. Snakes everywhere. I even tried to be nice to him by telling him that I thought his dose adjustment helped a bit. But noooooooo, he had to have me pee in a cup as a matter of course. Liar.

Use the fuck for what he s worth. Demand what you want....not what he suggests. If he can't work with you, tell him to find you a new GP.
Again.... it isn't worth your time to fret over this BS. if you say you are at the end of your with drawl? THAT my friend is the worst part! and why maybe you are dwelling on this little shit.

I wouldnt argue it, i understand its offensive. My fiance was taking 1x 8mg dilaudid every 4-6hrs and 24mg long lasting oxy capsules (the ones with the beads inside) She was up to a rediculous amount of morphine once they made the cross calculation because dilaudid is higher up on the food chain. It came down to getting epidurals in the back, neck and hands PLUS all that morphine, literally had to go to a methadone clinic for that doctor, hes history now. He couldnt believe there wasnt any improvement so he asked for a piss test she said OK here ya go but i dont appreciate being treated like a addict or drug dealer, ofcourse she was offended but she made it known.

One of the problems is there aren't a lot of docs up there...captive market.

I assume because at the end of the day he still needs his prescription. That kind of places you in a nasty position of having to debase yourself by complying as he's got you hardcore addicted to the product he's pushing.

This reminds me of a fraudulent hack pot doctor that got me into the mmar with a little green in his palm. He was having all of his pot patients pee in a cup. "But that's not a requirement of the MMAR... why are you treating us like assumed criminals". Because it reinforces his act of being a responsible fraudulent hack pot doctor, and if you wanted to be "legal" he was your only choice.
