Shit! My bad.
Started in 4"x4"rockwool.
1.5" layer of hydroton on the bottom of the pot, filled the rest with rockwool crutons. Then a shallow layer of hydroton to keep the light off the medium.
Good Luck!:peace::joint::peace:

i acually used a youtube video to figure out what I needed, then just went to Lowes and got most of it, then a hydro store for the rest. the video is called I GROW CHRONIC. it's a 9 part series on youtube. I have 3 pumps, 50 ft of hose, 25 ft of smaller hose, drip emmiters, watering spikes, 4X2 tray, two trays from around the house, Black/White plastic, zip ties, butes, ph meter, ph up, ph down. plus the lights of course, i got 2 400W HPS lights w/ hortilux bulbs.

blunted - question. why have a second pump to move the resivor around. doesn't the air bubb;ers do enough to keep the res mixed? or you just put it in as a precaution?

In my veg area I don't use a pump to mix the res, the air stone works ok for a 18gal res. But in my flower res it doesn't work so well (40 gal). Around the edges of my res you would be able to see a thin film forming on the surface if I didn't run my pump. With the pump running its like a slow whirlpool. Some people only run the second pump during feeding. I run my second pump 24/7.

Do an experiment. When you add your base nutes (if they have color) slowly pour them in the corner of your res and see how long it takes to mix. (with only an air stone) If it drags ass then get yourself a small pump. Lay the pump on its side in the corner of your res and run a piece of tubbing to the opposite end curling back towards the pump. Like a question mark? This will give you the whirlpool effect. Hope this helps.

Good Luck!!!:peace::joint::peace:

I run 5/8" tubbing from the pump down the length of my tray then cap the end off. From there I attatch the drip lines (1/4"). At the end of my drip lines I have the "spikes".

As for where I got the info.....Trial and error. I know quite a few people that grow so we tell eachother what works and what doesn't. Let me know if you have any more questions.:peace::joint::peace:
