Drip system vs ebb and flow

Hello...

I was just wondering about drip vs ebb and flow during the veg process. Ive seen alot of people use the drip system for veg, and ebb and flow for flower. I was wondering what the benefits would be for both of them during veg. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't read about switching during the phases I will look into it but sounds like working for at most minimal gains. Just pick one and roll with it is my advice.

If you havent done it before i would go ebb and flow and it works great! Just have to figure out watering time usually 3 times a day for me when im veg in a 20 hour light on schedule, and twice a day for 12 flowering but its what ever your plants tell you. I would use rockwool and let the water come up about 1/2 inch of the cube if they're 4 inch cubes so it wicks the water up to the roots and encourages the roots to grow towards the bottom. Just make sure they're not to wet i had this prob and they wear limp for a long time lol. But once i corected this they only veged for 4 weeks and were two and a half feet tall and bushy! now im flowering so if done properly in less than 3 months you can have your own smoke! Just monitor ph levels frequently and your good to go!

Oh ya and i would suggest not using the 4 inch rock wools and just taking tthe small rockwool right into a 8 inch net pot filled with hydroton clay that way you can move them around every other day.

Sweet that is good news. I was leaning towards ebb and flow, now i know im gonna go for it. How long do you set the pump to turn on for when watering?

Thanks alot for the help!

it all depends what you buy for a pump and how long it takes it to get to your water level. Mine only needs to come on for 6 min twice a day and thats it! but right now im flowering so when im vegging its 3 times a day on a 18 light schedule. Thats the easy part to figure. I would go ebb and flow man drip can be tricky figuring it all out, but its like anything once you,ve got it figured out its easy to make the small adjustments. I could leave my set up for a couple days and it would be fine but i dont. I like sitting in their and just watching ( the wife hates that)! lol. My set up is a 2x4 tray from a hydro store i suggest you get one from them and i got them to put in a mushroom shiphon vavle and the water inlet cut your inlet nice and short so it becomes a drain as well when you time your pump off that way it doesnt over saturate your cubes. then i got a 50g fish tank works the best i think or rubber maid i used that first but ran outta height in my room so i had to get the tray lower to the ground make sure your tray is higher than your res. a 60 gph pump some airstones 2 long ones and a air pump to keep that water oxygenated put stryofoam between the res and concrete if it goes on the floor. In my setup it takes about 5 minutes for the pump to fill the tray to where i have the height set at the mushroom valve then the pump runs one minute but still drains faster than it can fill which is good! and thats it. Continusually check your ph.
