Drip set up for coco- need help please!!

Hey guys,

switching over from soil/hps to coco/led. Doing 4 plants 3 gallon fabric pots fox farm trio with cal mag. Won’t be away from plants for more than 72 hour.

here is what I’m thinking:

10gallon brute trash can reservoir with a vivosun pump to a 4 port drip manifold. Would you guys recommend running tubes to the stemor getting the halos? And would I need an air pump as well??

I’m running Coco/LED in 3 gallons right now. 14 plants in 3 gallons drinking 10-15 gallons daily so you could probably get away with a 10 gallon res for 4 plants unattended for 72 hours. Might want to go with 15 gallons just to be safe.

I run straight 1/4” micro tubing from my manifolds, don’t have to worry about any clogging that way. I put barbed Tees on the end of the micro tubing. As highlighted by the picture above, the rings are worth there weight in gold on how even they distribute the water in the pot instead of it being so focused on one spot and hoping your edges wick some moisture before you get runoff.

There are many type of rings , I chose diy because I needed square size, I use 3/16" drill bit hole size

Feed ring or single point gives the same at the end of the day coco has great wicking potential

How do you get from your res to the pots via a pump without it draining/siphoning away the tank?

What is that that's holding the tube, what's it called?

Just a submersible pump with PVC plumbed to 8-outlet adjustable manifolds. Never had an issue with siphoning. If you do have a siphoning issue you can add a T onto the PVC inside the res right above the water line with a ball valve barely cracked open. This will allow a tiny bit of water to seep out and will release the pressure when the pump turns off.

Those are 1/4” drip stakes.

In such small pots of coco it is easy for the entire pot to be saturated by the time 10-20% runoff is achieved. Running two lines per pot is also an option.
