dreadlocks on my colas

Haven't seen much info on this, but I have 6 master kush, growing indoors in soil. Under 400 watt hps lamps.
I'm getting real close to harvest ( about 2 weeks away) and I notice a lot of new growth on my colas. They look like dreadlocks and they cover the cola. Is this normal or a reaction to the nutriants? What do you do when harvesting these? They look long and skinny ( the dreads, not the colas ) and I dought that thy will make nugs.

What causes this? Is it something to worry about?

Any advice from the experts out there?

yes , thats it. I had no idea what it was called. Is it something I should worry about? or is it just some kind of strain dependant thingy?

Sometimes it's strain dependent, I grew an unknown sativa that all it's buds we're foxtails. Only problem with them is that they're a bitch to trim.

So its caused by heat and genetics? I know that controling heat in my setup is less than ideal. I've had it go as high as in the 90's and as low as the 40's. I've since added a portable swamp cooler to my room ( not enough available electicity for a air conditioner). Low temps arn't a problem, as its summer now and it rarely gets as low as upper 60's.

So what do you do with them ? I man after harvest. Trimming a foxtail? I do see lots of trichs on them.
