Dr. GreenThumb's "Bubba OG"......

I'm wondering why when this particular "bubba" heard that there was a "bubba kush" before his that he didn't assume that he may not be the only one using that name? I mean it is highly plausible that there was already a "bubba kush" that wasn't his and was already famous in certain circles. As RB stated it's all illegal in meta terms and those who may actually be in the know will hardly make a public statement about it and even then there is no way to verify.

Sounds just like the G13 controversy (government pot from Mississippi?)......no way to prove one way or another so why bother talking about it.

Final results and comments posted on another site and copied over to here..........

The Bubba OG turned out very nice.......although there is a difference in STRENGTH between the different plants and I've been spending the last couple of days figuring it all out. Dr. Gruber sent two sample of his out for testing and his 8 week plant the THC levels were almost 18%. The 66 day plant came in almost 2% lower- but it should have been higher so we're still trying to figure that out. That being said- I had 4 plants that leaned more towards the Bubba parent and the other 4 more towards to OG parent. It appears to me now- that the Bubba leaners are not as strong as the others.......but they look better as they have more purple (and black) coloring within the tops of plants- and are further along in flowering (finishing up). All the plants are totally encrusted with resin and the trichs appear to be around 5%clear (at most)/80-85% cloudy/10-15% amber or there abouts. I'll post a series of pic's this afternoon.

I've been thru them all and right now #3 is my favorite. It has a strong 4 hour mostly felt in the head and eyes on just two hits from the bong. It leans to the OG parent. My top 3 plants are all green (OG leaners)..... the Bubba's I'd guess are an 8/10 on the potency scale, the OG leaners are up at 9/10. What stands out right now is how long lasting the buzz is. I may revise these number as I smoke more of it. I'm also testing out 5 or 6 other strains from the recent harvest so it will take a few weeks for my finals decisions.

Final weights on individual plants:

Plant 1 1.67 oz (47 gms.)

Plant 2 3.68 oz (103 gms.)

Plant 3 2.10 oz (59 gms.)

Plant 4 3.60 oz (101 gms.)

Plant 5 4.78 oz (134 gms)

Plant 6 4.96 oz (139 gms)

Plant 7 2.35 oz (66 gms.)

Plant 8 2.75 oz (77 gms.)

TOTALS 25.89 oz from 8 plants......avg per plant 3 1/4 oz per plant

Plants 5 and 6 were directly under a 1000 watt HPS and it appears, as it should be, plants that get more light yield better.

Some pic's......... but basically, if you've seen one of them, you've seen them all. Very nice strain, I'll be concentrating on it for a while. Very uniform grow, great yield, 10/10 bag appearance, great taste......the best strain I've grown in a long time. The best in 20 years......probably not. But maybe the best in 5+ years. A very easy grow overall. Find the best plant and clone the crap out of it for a long term keeper. The plants that turned purple, I'm guessing which lean towards the Bubba parent, are not as strong but look better. The green buds, from the OG parent, are nicely potent and the keepers.

Lastly, if you are looking for something within the Bubba or OG lines......you can't go wrong here. Well worth the money..........

Bubble bags with dry ice........took me all of 10 minutes to make all that. Didn't have to even dry it.....it smoked perfect 1/2 hour after collection.

For years I made cold water ice hash with a mini washer but I agree, way too much work. It used to take almost 2 hours to get the same amount of hash. And then a couple more days to dry.

Go to youtube and type in "dry ice hash extraction" and then watch one of 50 videos available on the subject. Watch a few different ones as everyone has their own method with minor variations. Hardest part is finding dry ice, which my local Safeway happens to sell.

The two keys in making good hash with bubble bags/dry ice is:

1. micron size of bag(s) used...... with too small a size you'll get too little hash and too large lets too much leaf matter in with the hash.

2. how long you shake the bags with the ice and shake....... too long and you'll get too much leaf matter.

It may take once or twice to get the hang of it but once you do, you'll never go back to your old method. And be careful handling the ice as it's like 5X-6X colder than regular ice and dangerous to the touch.

I use XXXtractor bags ( http://www.xxxtractor.com) which I've had and used for at least 5 or 6 years. They are well made and last but there are many others on the market just as good if not better. Some people like to buy a lot of bags with different mesh sizes, which can be expensive. I have the 3 bag system, and it's fine for me.
