Hi All,

Wasn't sure if this should go in the newb central or nutrients section so here goes.

We have struggling seedlings in coco that have been going on a month with just water. No nutrients.

We have pelletized 5-5-5 all purpose fertilizer that we want to turn into a tea and use for watering the seedlings. The recommended dosage is 1 cup Fert / gallon of water. We were thinking perhaps starting at a 1/5 strength.
All thoughts / comments are welcome here, seriously!!!

What is struggling? Are they stretching? How big are they? How did you prepare the coco? Pictures would help people assist you. Seedlings still need nutrients so going a month without could be a problem. Coco has nothing in it. One thing though, I grow in coco but start my seedlings in soil. I use small 2 inch pots and transplant when roots are nice and full. I start in soil because a good soil has everything a seedling needs for at least a month. With coco it's hard to get the right level of nutrients dialed in for growing seedlings. At least it was for me. After the seedlings have developed a set of leaves I transplant them into three gallon fabric pots with coco and 1/4 - 1/2 strength nutrients and work my way up from there with each feeding.
If you've been watering with just plain water for a month you're starving those seedlings because coco is inert..

No joke a doubling effect happened in the 3 days since we first introduced nutrients to the seedlings. And they look a lot healthier.

We'll have photos later this week but basically it's night and day since the feeding started.

Could you recommend any non-liquid nutrient/fertilizer brands for both Veg and Flowering? It would be great to only have to buy 1 bag of powder fertilizer for each growing stage.

The coco is pre-mixed so no preparation was required.

Day 15 (too much water, too much LED, and no nutrients)

Day 25 (without any nutrients)

Day 31 (Today with 2 rounds of nutrient feeding)
