I got the idea from bb61's thread and after being a little disappointed in my first cab grow I decided to do something similar to his.

My first thread is over at that you can check out to see my progress before now, I believe it at day 6 or something due to my phone dying.
https://www.rollitup.org/stealth-micro-cab-growing/668183-1st-attempt-operation-miracle-kush.html

Holy Grail Kush is the plant that I will be growing.

We're at 15 days of Veg and have had to transplant her since the first thread I made due to mold problems and potted her into some miracle grow moisture control.
I'm not really sure if she likes it though because she hasn't grown much in height at all for almost a week though she is certainly growing leafs. I think she's pretty small
but this is my first plant after all so I have no idea what to expect from this little Kush plant. She did receive some shock from the early transplant and her bottom leafs started dying so they were clipped off.

Temperatures are around 85 degrees and I have an intake and outtake consisting of 4' usb fans for more circulation I have a 6' desk clipping fan blowing on the lights.
I've watered her every 2-3 days and have her about 4' away from the lights. I am using three 23 watt cfl bulbs and one 42 watt 6500k bulbs, 24:0 is the light cycle.

Here are some pictures of the cab which can be disassembled easily. It's completely lightproof aside from the top part where the lid goes on and the vents. Quite loud though, not exactly stealthy ;-)

Pretty strapped for cash so I cannot purchase everything that I would like, Kind of working with the bare essentials right now.
Any suggestions/advice is appreciated

Looking good

Grab a can of some krylon fusion spray paint from Walmart and spray the inside of the lid with a couple coats. I can tell you it was a pain in the ass doing the little ribs on the lid with aluminum tape and getting it light proof.

Thanks bb, I have more white paint to paint it but I'm just being a lazy bastard, will probably do that in the next couple of hours.

Temps are reaching 88f with my new 42 watt cfl so I think I may need to move my outtake fan directly onto my lights and turn the old hole into a passive.

My bottom bin still has some light leaks that I need to take care of but my free time I've been trying to work on my cab. Are you going to use a carbon filter?

The white paint was enough to take care of any light leaks on my bottom bin. A couple of coats of white paint would probably take care of it for you. I just finished doing another coat on mine and
it's completely light proof aside from the intake/outtake. I think I'll be able to drop the temperature a couple more degrees with the lid being white now, less absorption.

Haven't really decided yet, I'm getting the OnaGel stuff in a week or so but a carbon filter would be nice.

It wouldn't be that hard to craft one onto my outtake using a 2 liter bottle.

Pretty annoyed right now.

After doing a couple more coats of paint on my cab and moving the plants closer to the lights it seems to make the temperature rise 15 degrees... No idea why this is but I turned off my 42 watt and 23 watt for now till I figure something out.

Probably going to have to move the lights down a bit and place my outtake fan directly on the light holder. Can't seem to get my 6' to cover everything :s

I can't mount it to the top portion because then it wont be easily detachable. Hmm what to do

Quick question... Did you move your thermometer closer to the lights as well? That affects the reading

yeah I did, but it's not far away from my plant so It's probably 90-95 at the plant which is still not good.

Going to rework the lights so they will be lowered a bit and the 6' will be blowing directly on top opposed of them opposed to the side. maybe that'l help

also gave her a good ol' flush today, hopefully that solves this slow growth problem I'm dealing with.

I think the lights were to close to the lid.

I moved the lights a tad bit down and temps are around 80f now.

Broke my thermo by stepping on it last night though :(

So been a while since I posted.

Here's a pic of how it looks, Any idea if it's female or not?

3 weeks into veg, lol. plants.jpgplants1.jpgplants3.jpgplants5.jpgplants7.jpggetthere.jpg

Will be using miracle grow as my ferts in a couple days, once the soil is dryer.

I also did adjustments to the cab, I can now adjust the lights easily. Also removed the outtake and made it a passive, took the usb fan from that and have it directly onto the lights.

More pictures to come later.

Yet I continue to update for all of the ones watching but not responding.

Also, I'm convinced it's a girl now. :) Awesome

Here's some pictures , You can laugh all you want at my pot.

And considering I almost killed her in the transplant at 5 days old, I think she looks god. And despite being grown in 90-100 degree temperatures for her first week of life.

And she was started on miracle grow ferts yesterday, It cured my newly yellowing leafs and made the plant a more natural green.

Just tied er down a bit more. Almost pulled her roots out like a jackass but I don't think I did any serious damage.

I also cut 3 old leafs that had the claw and were nute locked that looked gross, hope that it helps.

I'm noticing a lot of growth near the bottom, and is it just me or is thing plant's genetics weird as hell.

Now, I know a lot of people advice to not cut the fan leafs during veg.

I on the other hand decided to try things my own way and they seem to be fine, No noticeable shock was caused to my plant.
I probably wont be doing this again after doing a lot of research on the topic, but oh well.

I did it because of the awkwardness of my cab, the lights from the top will not hit the middle leafs no matter where I place the lights.
Some leafs under the fan leafs were actually drooping from lack of light, so nobody can tell me that light penetrates those gargantuan fan leafs to the bottom, If it does it's surely not enough light.

My argument is that growing indoors is nowhere near natural, So trimming to allow more light could prove a good thing.
Direct sunlight is able to penetrate around the plant where as our CFL's are only able to penetrate a couples of inches.

Trimming fan leafs on an outdoor plant = no,
Trimming fan leafs in regular indoor grow = no
Trimming in a confined space to allow more light to bottom structure = maybe good ?

I know all plants react completely differently to defoliation but these Kush strains seem to not give two shits about it.

You can see how much bushier she is already. The bottom has really picked up.

The little one is now 30 days old from sprout.

Gargantuan, I know... :P

Looks like the trimming didn't stunt growth thank god.ie1m.jpgqh05.jpg

It seems like chopping the fan leafs sort of acted like topping.

This morning more energy is being dispersed around the plant instead of just the top leafs. The side ones are getting equally as large.
There is so much improvement with my plant since miracle grow was started as fertilizer, It returned to a natural green color and seems to have grown a bit every time I look into the cab.

There's 6-7 more spots that new leafs are emerging, Loving how bushy she is. (lol)

Thinking about doing another 3 weeks of veg then throwing her into flower. I have a vacation coming up and would rather have it in veg than flower while I'm gone... Most likely going to do a huge flush then a good strong dose
of nutes before I leave to keep the soil moist for that long.
