Why on earth would China invade Australia or any other foreign country that doesn’t border them? You’re thinking of the USA.

Australia is in debt to China but in a more cooperative way. Regardless the Chinese hook countries on the money and leave politics out of it. Until. Watch them in Africa. Read up on how they got into Africa. All of Africa. Our troops that got jumped in Niger? Just south of the only oil refinery in Niger. Owned by China. Oh sure we were there for some terrorist in some village. Google “map Chinese involvement Africa”. They own the place basically.
dont know how you reckon China wouldnt bother anyone not bordering them when the location of the bases being/built on the Spratly islands are far from coastal China & much closer to Vietnam & Malaysia? regardless Admiral Chris Barrie(ret) has a dim view with future happenings in the info listed below

Our conflict with China will occur very close to China. Not as far away as Australia. The USA has underestimated China just like we underestimated Japan in WWII. Their strength will be from staying home or very close to home. Division of forces and logistics etc.

who u gonna call if China invades OZ? Australia still owe US big time!
What a weird statement. How does Australia owe the US anything? We have followed you into every single war you have started since WW2.
We have more than paid for your help both economically, culturally and in blood.

Im not sure what you want but it seems to be part of the American culture to keep asking for thank you's. Funnily enough its not something the rest of the world seems to do. I don't expect France, Italy, Africa, England etc etc etc etc to thank me as an Australian because we helped them.
And its not like you were coming to help us before the Japanese attacked you was it? You helped us because it was convenient to do so.
We help America today, right at this minute and ive never heard an Australian ask for thanks from America.

And I am grateful that America did come and help our solders fighting a withdrawal at extreme odds. (and doing it well if u happed to follow war history- which I suspect you don't). Fkn English wouldn't release our Army from Europe or we wouldn't of needed any man power form you. But this American thing of thinking we owe you for ever is strange. How often do you thank France?

Australia owes the US because of the protection offered since the end of WW2, Australia would very possibly have been invaded by Indonesia if it wasn't for having a strong & close ally in the form of the US, ive known AU military personnel for the last 40yrs, they openly state that Indonesia were a definite threat for decades,...btw im an Aussie, our military by itself would have been no match against Indonesia, anyway dude, ive seen your posts elsewhere & have no respect for you, & have no interest in anymore exchanges here or elsewhere with you

Indonesia? I think the Commonwealth would keep that at bay.
We don't owe the US anything, its been a mutual benefitting alliance for a long time. Gives them reach and stability on the other side of the globe as a kicker.
You can do what you like with my posts, exchange or not. There is a Ignore button as well.

Australia's entire national debt is 362 billion dollars U.S., none of which is owed to the U.S.

The U S. On the other hand owes pretty much everybody money with Japan being owed the most followed closely by China.

Stop watching old war movies that glorify American soldiers. They have no basis in reality when it comes to who owes who what.

who said anything about financial debt or old war movies? the debt im talking about is a debt of support or commitment to help, the only reason Indonesia did not invade Australia was/is because of the clear offer of military aid to Australia by the US if in trouble, imo Australia should be fair & offer what support it can to US in return

America is an ally, of course Australia offers support. But it doesn't mean Australia has to support America in conflicts of it's own. Conflicts which could easily have been avoided in the first place. Instead it was provoked.

What's Australia gonna do to support America in this conflict? Introduce it's own tariffs on Chinese goods?
Know how crazy that would be?

Australia has no reason or place to get involved at all.

i never stated we should support US with a trade war, only militarily
please enlighten us here in Australia as to what happened during the 1970's, 80's with the Indonesian issue regarding military threat?

Could you first give a reason why the US is in this war with China?

i do not know how or where this 'upcoming war' with China may develop or start, possibly with a right of navigation through the South China Sea disputed island territories? i have not a clue?

So for arguments sake, lets say there's a war tomorrow between China and America. If there was a choice between not getting involved at all, or military support for America, you'd prefer if Australia went to war?

Why should Australia get involved at all? When really it's America (Trump) who's started this economic tit for tat.

What bad things would happen to Australia if it didn't get involved at all?
