Shes been flowering for a little over 5 weeks now and this is it? Theres not very much bud and it smells more like grass from a lawn than marijuana. This is my first plant so makes sense if i did something wrong but its a pretty big let down. she looked like she was going to be fruitful. Any feedback is appreciated.

Hey at least its something! Always best to finish your grow rather than cut it down early. Be proud of your first buds that you grew!

Looks like you took a lot of leaves/branches off. Was this during flowering? Also looks a bit dry or something, hard to tell by the pic.

i watered her two days ago and then came to check on her and the leaves were all sad and crunchy but the soil was still moist. i trimmed a lot of fan leaves off the day i watered her too. i thought fan leaves should be trimmed during flowering so she can focus on bud production?
its cool i got some bud was just hopeful that it was going to be a better harvest. I am puzzled why the bud smells like grass though.

Don't cut fan leaves off a plant. They are its energy source for growing. Read up on nutes, lighting, and basic growing. Better luck next time.

Did you water with nutes?

and from what i've learned first hand and through research is that you should NOT take off leaves during flower, could stunt bud growth.

its done with life for sure. just checked my notes and i started flowering feb 1st. well thats good to know about not trimming fan leaves during flowering. thats probably where i went wrong as ive been trimming them off this entire time. oh well. i have 4 more runner ups that i can hopefully improve bud production with. bummer but its a learning curve.

using cfls as im a baller on a budget. about 4000 lumens total with K ranging from 2700-3500. using fox farm nutes
make sure that you use at least 2, 40 watt daylight bulbs for veg 6500k ,and 3, 42 watt soft white bulbs for budding 2500k and the more bulbs the more buds.

yea ive been using 5000k and up for veg. i read that 3500k is good for both veg and flower so ive used one of those bulbs as well for both. the more bulbs the more heat though and i have yet to setup a legit lighting system. at the moment im using clamp lights. (so ghetto) in that picture it looks like those lights are attached to a vent?

If my plants looked like that at 5 weeks I would definitely not invest another minute. I could buy weed cheaper almost. Lol
That isn't meant to be mean.
Shit happens, learn what you can from it.

im not sure where your at in the world , but what i would do . is cure that shit the best you can . and sell it . someone will buy that . an take tha fetty . and invest in either 600 watt HID or a newer led set up. you can find that shit used on craigslist for hella cheap . and if you have clones on deck .use the cfls for veg and get 600 grams of fire from the better set up . i think i paid 100.00 us for a 1000w hood and bulb. bulb lasted 5 days . but its best to have a fresh bulb anyways. .

As was said before..we grow, we learn, we do it again... As for it drying up like that, did you spray it with anything or get the whole pant fully wet when you watered last?
