Dollar General Drug Testing?

Whats up guys, so a family member knows the manager at Dollar General & is setting me up with a job there, i guess i'll do stocking or cashier, nothing major, but do they drug test? I may go ahead and stop smoking before hand for a while (hopefully i wont resort to using K2 or any other spice again xD), but i want to know just in case.

Also, say i were to have to take a random one later on, and i failed, would my manager have the legal right to tell my family member that(i'm over 18 ) i failed it or is there some type of manager-employee confidentiality? I know weed is not all that bad but thats not how this specific family member thinks, and i'd rather he didnt find out if i were to fail one, i know of one smoker that worked there a few years ago, he ended up getting fired becuase they think he was stealing cash, and he probably was, he's a total thief >_>. So im thinking things have changed since then and they are more strict, but i really have no idea

honestly what i decide to tell my family is my own decision not yours, stay on topic please...

and no not exactly, im only 18, and my parents know, by my uncle really respects me and some of the things ive done in my life and i dont want that ruined or him to look down on me being the extremely devoted baptist he is, he just dosent agree with his use of marijuana, and i never lied to him, some things are just better left unsaid.

And trust me dude im as happy as i can be, i definatly wont be happier knowing my uncle looks down upon me if he was to find out, that makes absolutly no sense

yeah i really dont think they do, im just hoping someone here can confirm it, better safe than sorry ;)

the thing is you have to take this written test first, and every single place ive ever had to do some type of survey or test ive found that they drug tested, thats why im some what worried

Problem is i cant just not go in for the job, im about to start a new semester at college and i really need a new job, they are just so hard to get around here, unfortunatly the people i was working for was a family owned business, and the owner had recuring cancer so they havent been opened barely any all summer, i basicly got laid of i guess, sucks, working at a greenhouse wasnt that bad, super nice people too

stop smoking drink a lot of water!! dont know your habit etc etc but hope for the best. they will probably only test you again if you have an accident and get hurt or hurt someone else so that way the blame is on you. if you fail technically they cannot tell anyone but you....but you know how family friends do.....

yeah i know, thats the issue with family friends, i wouldn never do anything to get the woman in trouble if she did, but if i did by chance fail a random one it would be nice to know that legally she can not share the information

i hope she wouldnt either. ethically/legally she cannot tell anyone even future employers why you were fired or what not. do a google search and there are products that will test positive for thc...like forms of advil (look though i forgot the exact...similar to poppie seeds and heroin) put that down on the test and even if they do not give you the job because of the failure at least you have the backdoor reason

hi im fairly new here but yesterday I had an interview at dollar general and no they do not drug test unless you are a lead sales ass. or management I live in west Virginia so im not sure if all states are the same so good luck my friend
