You certainly are in a quandry there with changing soil pH by top dressing. At least topdressing with lime will give you more ca and mg, but I'd be surprised if it changes the pH of the lower half of the pots. Still worth a shot imo. Since lime takes a long time to become available, I'd mix it in some ewc first before top dressing. If you can wait, add water to said mixture and let it cook for a week or two and let the humic acids in the ewc work their magic. (Edit: that will make the calcium and magnesium way more available and in a short amount of time, but to change the pH of the soil, the ca and mg need to attach to the cation base exchange sites in the soil, so watering some in may be beneficial as well. Fwiw, potassium silicate is supposedly only a pH up and the silica isn't available. Monosilisilic acid in power si is a highly available source of silica though.
