Dogs, Seizures & CBD

So I have a rottweiler puppy that had a seizure the other day. We gave him a little bit of CBD tincture each day since then and so far he's not had another seizure.

I have a friend who had a litter of german shepard puppies and one kept having bad seizures, several a day. I gave my buddy a pound of trim (gorilla glue 4) and he made some oil from it and gave it in tiny amounts to the puppy daily for about 3 months and it stopped the seizures and the puppy is a little over a year old now and hasn't had a seizure since the cannabis oil treatment was stopped.

In short, I believe that dogs with seizures can be helped with cannabis just like humans.

Anyone else have experience with dogs with seizures and cannabis?

I was able to get my Havanese girl, who has idiopathic meningoencephalitis, off Keppra with CBD oil. Dogs have a good reaction to CBD but not as tolerant of THC. CBD is quite useful.

I treat my uncles 2yr old golden-poodle who has many many seizures with cbd and thc mixed. He gets 2x 80mg (40/40mg) gel caps daily. I just started the dog on this regime last week.

We go back to our neurologist later this week. He was ok with us continuing the cbd, where he said there was more evidence of help was with recovery from seizure, he did not at all discount the potential for other benifits. It was not effective for our seizure pup that is now on zonisamide and potassium bromide. Our old boy is on it for general inflamation/pain. My experience to date has been with a full spectrum hemp extract which I believe is ok for an antiinflamitory but will most likely be switching at least the pup to pure/refined cbd.

I truly believe cbd is what is keeping my old mastiff going .
Was on glucosamine, then was showing her age as it got colder this year, started giving her cbd in a gel cap, it’s like she’s 4-5 again.

No experience with cbd and dogs but the seizure is most likely a symptom of some other issue
Please do more research and contact a Vet
