Does this fan and carbon filter fit my cab?

I have a S&P TD-160/100 N silent fan that says it runs 160 m3/h max. It also has a low setting which I BELIEVE is 130 m3/h.

I also have a 100mm/250mm HortiFilter Fresh Air Control filter that says airflow 175m3/h.

The inside dimensions of the cabinet are 5.5' height X 3.0' width X 1.5' depth.

I will be using an area51 XGS190 LED. Maybe I will add an RX150 at the very most.
So heat will hopefully not be a problem. (?)

Can my fan and filter combo be used for this size cab? if so, should I use 160 m3/h or 130 m3/h?

And should the passive intake be twice the size of the exhaust? in this case, 2 x 4" holes?
Also, what would be the best lightseal for the passive intake? pvs bends or louver?
Do I need lightsealing pvc bends for the fan exhaust? or will the carbonfilter block the light?

Really hope for some answers. Thanks a lot!

your going to need ducting so u can always hang the filter in there duct out then attach to the fan outside the area then duct the rest of the way

I have some ducting and flanges. The fan and filter both fit inside the cab. Could I suck the air out with both inside?

I was thinking 4" hole < flange < duct < fan < duct < filter.
All in a straight line at the very top of the cab.

Would this be alright? and also, is this fan powerful enough for my area? either using 130 m3/h or 160 m3/h?

the fan u have is more then enough power for your area if u wanted too u could go to the lower booster fan to save area

but u need to to have intake holes too ........if u are passive system u need a 8 inch by 8 inch vent

as for how to run it u should not need the flange when u make the hole just sand it and round down........filter...ducting.....fan.....ducting......exhaust point

i am going under the idea u quote your size in feet not meters (if was in meters holy crap that is big) ........for your area something like this

that is a booster fan it is 100cfms something like that will work for u .......just look at the blades the metal ones have a faster spin and more power to them then the plastic ones

u are right about keeping it as strait as u can for the power also rem that those ridges on the ducting act as air breaks slowing the force they travel at so u want those strait all the way out or pushed all the way together .........use the flexie ducting the semi ridged stuff sucks

That is still to big for your 25 cf space. Assuming 75 actual CFM after the filter you would still be clearing the air 3 times per minute, too fast. In that space you need something smaller. You don't want to clear the air any more than once every 2 minutes.

Sounds to me like a job for a flat filter and a computer fan.

Wow I had no idea the requirements were so low. So that would basically mean my 25 cf space would only need a 12.5 CFM fan if there is no filter attached ? and subtract an additional 20% if using a filter? being 10cfm for my cab :shock:

and what are the concequences for the plants if going above that "once every 2 minutes" rule?

8-12.5 CFM would be good.

Issues going to high:
1. If using a tent, implosion, sucks the tent in on itself.
2. Wind burn, can dry the plants out with excessive airflow
3. barometric pressure way out of wack, moving air this fast will either put your area in extreme high or low pressure. Effects on the plant are uncertain, but we know this is not a good thing.

Imam looking at pretty much the same size and type of set up.

Grow tent 5' height x 3.5' wide x 1.5' deep so about 28cfm???
I am using DormGrow G8 450 LED lights.
Using a hydroponics system

As it stands just now only opening it up at night to change air about and keep it slightly open at top and bottom during day. LED lights crazy purple bright light!

Silence is the biggest thing for my grow!

I was concerned about ventilation and when I get to flowering obviously the smell..!

I was also looking at TD 160/100 and started looking at rhino carbon filters.

I was also going to use acoustic ducting - (best quality suggestions please?)

I was going to build an acoustic box for fan also!

And because of the size of tent I was going to get a speed controller for the fan.

My questions are:

I am correct to think I defiantly require ventilation?

Will this fan work with carbon filter and what size should I get?

What is the best acoustic ducting to use?

I only want to use 1 fan to extract, I will keep vents and intake parts of tent open to draw fresh air in, will this be ok?

Anything else I should be mindful off?
