Does smoking bud make your eyes yellow?

This is just something i've been dying to clear up, but can't seem to find a solid answer.

I've heard long term smoking (a few years + daily) can cause the whites of your eyes to be stained yellow.

Can anyone confirm this to be true or not?

I love to smoke, I can't picture giving it up...at least not any time soon. But I also don't wanna end up with yellow eyes.

Experiences of long time smokers would be appreciated. Thank you.

i highly doubt that it's the weed

you might want to visit your doc, a friend of mine had a problem with his liver back in high school, and he had yellow eyes

i think the condition is called jaundice

Smoking alone won't yellow your eyes, but if you have liver problems, [drink a bit too much/too often?] you'll notice yellowed eyes. Jaundice causes yellowing because of bilirubin, which is a byproduct of old red blood cells, isn't filtered by the liver as efficiently. So obviously if you have increased blood flow to the eyes, and even mild jaundice, you'll get yellowy eyes!

I'm no expert on jaundice, but I've never heard of yellow eyes as having been caused solely by smoking

There is a list of things that cause yellow eyes, almost too long to mention, but it has a common thread of nearly always being related to the liver... there is just as long a list of possible liver problems... have it checked out by a GP.
