does less water make more resin?????/

I tried an experament. I had a couple plants i grew away from the rest and tell me if this makes sense.

One plant i watered on an exact schedule. The other i would wait till the dirt pulled away from the edge of the bucket it was sooo dry. It seems to me that the plant that got nothing for water seemed to produce soooo much more resin.....same plants same genetics, same soiless mix, same nutes....different water schedule.
Does this make sense?

I would think that good bud makes better resin

yeah deffinitly good bud makes the difference but isnt resin production a way for the plant to protect it self. so if you create the right situation it should create more resin in certain situations?

Well it is true that it creates resin to protect itself, so it kinda makes sense i suppose. But overall, as the plant matures, it actually gets pretty darn strong, so waiting for the soil to dry a bit anyways is always good. Interested to see what this turns into!
