Well nearly all pre made soils have bugs, not from the process of them making it but more or less how your local store stores it. Bugs will crawl into bags if the store is infested or if its been sat outside for a while.

But your going to always have a problems with bugs every single grow no matter what, why dont you invest in a proper ipm and spray weekly? Problem solved?

They're bags... who knows what storage facility they were at months and years, before you bought it. In soil, you're at the mercy of what ever god you pray to.

Im sure most bagged soils can have bugs. Fungus gnats probably most common, or springtails which are actually beneficial. Ive never had any bugs from soil take up residence on leaves I don't think. Figure out what they are, they may not be coming outta the soil.

I had an issue with fungus gnats but took care of it pretty easily. Though I may agree with you that the larvae was in the soil, as others have stated, that's sorta a given for soil due to storage mostly. Foxfarm's soil is actually pretty good but I hope you find something better for your grows! :bigjoint:

Most bag soils do especially from sitting around. I mix a little DE into my soil when I first use it and then water kills most eggs etc of everything. Since I've started to do that never seem to have bug problems anymore with soil picked up somewhere.

I have been using Pro Mix HP, for over 30 years and have never ever gotten bugs, Not saying it can't happen but it has never happened to my grow, The only time I have had a problem is when I took a clone from a friend, and it looked great with the naked eye. turns out it had the dreaded Spider Mites. took a year to get rid of them little SOBs, A good thing to use in your Grow room is Cedar, My room is all Cedar Bugs just don't like it so I was my walls with plain water and let it run all over the tables and I have not had a problem with and bugs KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK on wood ;) Good luck Hope you get rid of what ever pests you have. Do not let anyone in your room and always go into your room with Clean shoes and cloths, Pests can be carried in by a variety or ways.

Promix has the nice wrapping that's thicker than ur average bag of soil u get at the store for fox farms etc. Id assume that could be the case especially when it comes to bug eating through the bags, I also try to take from middle of the pallet where it wasn't bumped or hit with forks etc.

Before you shit you pants sonny-boy you should identify what the fuck the bugs are. If you don't know what they are then how would you know if they will cause problems for you. Most insects will have no business with your plants.
