There are more than 100 threads regarding clear, cloudy, amber and when to harvest based on what effect you want.

Wait until you see the majority cloudy trics before harvesting. Look at quite a few buds to be sure, I will usually have a few amber by the time they are all ready. If you chop at the first sight of cloudy the majority will still be clear.

Rocpilefsj is correct. Personally i'd say that it's a good idea with your first harvest (i'm only guessing that it is because of the question) that it's a good idea to harvest in a couple different states! Try to harvest at the very first sign of amber (which will make sure that you're just at peak ripeness, and this will give you a very energetic and upbeat type of high). Next wait for some to be half milky and half amber (what i personally think is the most mature and well balanced high). Last take the rest of your buds when they are around 75% amber (this is around the end of peak maturity and potency will only degrade from this point on, and this will give you a nice relaxing strong body high with a little bit of head high). I suggest this because it will get you to truly understand what YOUR harvest preference will be in the future! Everyone chops at their own personal favorite blend of trichome maturity, but i like to have different highs from the same plant! Blueberry that has a nice head high for early in the day to keep you up and energetic, a half and half milky and amber for the middle of the day to chill after work but still be functionable lol, and a nice amber narcotic like body high to allow you to get a good night's sleep from passing out on your couch to your favorite video game with controller still in hand with "Game Over" on the screen haha. But you get the point, variety is the spice of life, and to each his/her own. Hope this helped brotha
