anyone know if you can substitute honey for molasses? are sugars even necessary?

Not necessary, but to compliment the taste and smell as well as speed up the plants metabolism.

I didn't read the link......but I'm guessing if honey was as good as molasses, we'd be using it already.

I use honey for clones and get near 100% success rates with it. For growing In soil I haven't used either since I mainly grow hydroponically.
