i know the court system ........8 he is safe ........u just need to have a doctor or 2 look at him and tell the court he did not fully understand what was going on .....he could not form intent to commit a crime he was just being a kid pushing something
if he was 12 or so might have some trouble but 8 ........just get a lawyer and have him see a doctor or 2 willing to write a note for the court system
as he is 8 the record is sealed at 18 so nothing left to do 18 he is a crime virgin but untill then if he does something else he can be looking at probation/ and ordered to see a doctor
techinally the crime was a felony as the value of the item is over a set limit (my state is 300 check your rules in yours)
as for u nothing can happen unless u directed the kids to push the cart out ......given your posting on here i do not think u are they kind of person
it was a mistake just take steps to teach him can not do that .......the ppl in the blue shirts take u someplace not fun
the lawyer should not charge u more then 1500 for this kind of case if it does go to trail ....if it is felony u are looking a 3500 to 5000
doctors will be out of pocket like 50-75 bucks depending on health insurance .....no meds it will just be talk ( but u want to do this yourself do not allow the court to do it as they can direct the line of ?ing .....u want a 3rd party doctor will just ask the standard text ?s avioding any traps for u later)
