Does anyone harvest part of their plant, like the very top colas due to getting to close to lights in order to save what's already there.
And does anyone trim and dry a few small buds to get a sample of what's to come. Im in the last 2 week's of flower and anxious to try it, had 2 small branches break off and I don't want it to go to waste obviously.

Some people do that, especially if those top buds are ready before the lower buds. You wouldn't expect a chef not to taste his/her creations before proclaiming them ready to serve, would you?

My colas get fat and then lay down on the top trellis to bask in the light for the last 2 - 3 weeks. These are starting to lay down on day 50 of a 70 - 73 day strain (true GG4 breeders cut). The bent stem doesn't slow them at all.
Ya my plants usually supercrop themselves in a few spots the last few weeks of flower, lucky the trellis holds them up and they just keep chugging along lol

In your large grows where the big buds are close together do you ever have problems with a cola laying down on top of another bud causing rot due to poor air circulation?

I have not had the rot but I have had buds that get covered end up a lighter green.
