Thanks I like these. They have anything bigger though.
You would be wasting money on that amazon light.

GB is dead on.

HLG200= 648 301H's, plus 660 reds for $200.
2 of them being 400$ for 1296 301's + 36 660nms for $400 With a very nice heatsink and driver is equal.

Amazon light...448 for 816 un-binned normal 301h's. No reds.

Just on the white diodes alone its a win. But then the reds and build quality. Very hard to go wrong with the HLG diablo gear.

Okay so to be more specific my 9x9 ft room. Has 45 plants. I have them in 5 gallon buckets in 9 groups of 5 would it be better to get 9 small lights with a 2x2 flower footprint or fewer light with say a 3x3 or 4x4 flower footprint?

By the way Grass Burner. Kudos on the great advice. Never had an HLG. I just checked the site. Beautiful lights. Im definitely going with them. Do you think I should get fewer more powerful lights or more less powerful lights

There are way better lights in that price range.
9x9 room though you’re gonna want 4 650w+ lights get something with more red than the one you linked for flower.

How high is your place and how much hanging height can you afford? The hlg200 doesnt come with any parmap or recommendation re hanging height. If memory serves me the old 120w original qb needed about 18" so expect more for full power operation.

The bigger question is, what is your budget to cover that room? HLG is nice, but there are cheaper options that are still good if you can't afford 4 of the 600+ watt HLG.

My ceiling is pretty low probably 85 inches from the floor.
Youre probably best served by 4x 650w bar lights, treating it like 4x 4.5x4.5 spaces. Have you thought out walkways or similar? A 9x9 growspace without access means its hard to get into the middle for plant management and you also need some solution for altering the hanging height. Or alternatively just keep your lights high.

Personally i feel the diablo boards offer something that very few other growlights have: marketleading efficiency with a tweaked spectrum with extra wide blue spectrum. 4 diablo scorpions would do great but a bit outside budget.

Ok cool thanks, im going to check on the scorpions.
As for walkway i have 45 plants in 9 5 gallon buckets. I have them in groups of 5 so i can move around them pretty easily. You think thats a good approach? Im open to constructive criticism and suggestions.

Try to do your plant groupings based on 4 areas rather than 9. For a large grow like this youd need to take environmental control under consideration. Youll need a bit more heat, +81F, for growing leds and good control of RH.

The hlgs are really nice and if they fit your budget have easier customer service than Chinese manufacturers. I just can’t see paying $1300+/light but I’m a cheap sob.

I’d go with 4 mars hydro fc/fce 6500s I use the fce 4800 in my tent and it grows some dank, good spectrum and price.
This should come in more or less on budget but id do due diligence before buying: make sure that returns of faulty/duff item is on someone else, ive heard cases of mars making customers return faulty on arrival unit to china on their customers dime. Make sure theres actionable after sales support.

You'll need 4 lights running 650+ watts each. What's your plan for humidity and other environmental controls?
