Anything can change in value, including gold. As more gold is mined, the value goes down, as there is more of a demand, the value goes up. But you are correct, the dollar is on the way out, thanks to our reckless monetary policy. The Euro is already making huge gains on the dollar, and it is only going to get much much worse.

I love when Republicans talk about how gold is the only real currency. It really lets the uber-paranoid, apocalypse awaiting, T-Rat addicted survivalist junkie shine through. Seeing a bunch of people that are so full of fear parade around and claim to be strong is so hilarious. That's the difference between a Dem and a Rep. A Rep bought all the fear tactics full price, and is now lead around by the nose by the whoever they think will do the best job of protecting them, no matter how many times they get screwed over. A Dem doesn't respond to fear, which is why we can continue to make logical decision in tough situations.

ANYBODY with an OUNCE of intelligence knows that precious metals are the only money...all you have to do is look at the blueprint dollar bills that were representative of silver...and the conversion of our quarters/dimes from 90% silver, to nickel/zinc/copper.

Where in my post did I say gold is the only real currency? I don't even advocate the gold standard. Nice incoherent rant though.

this is true...i read an article in national geographic about gold, and how all the gold that's ever been mined is only enough to fill two olympic-size swimming pools...and half of that (one swimming pool) has been mined since the 50's.

the article also stated that most mines are drying up, and the only un-mined gold left is being found across rugged terrain in the "far corners of the world"

I still believe in silver more than gold, with all its practical applications and industrial uses
